Have you ever had an accident like this b4?

This was may of last year 2010. Thought I should share to the fellow max owners. YES IM ONE LUCKY MUTHR FKR!

Anyways I was on my way fishing, when I ran into some thick loose gravel that was brought from the feilds by the tractors. Unaware that there was a train track ahead of me I Kept my constant speed of 60mph. right as i hit the tracks the car lost its gripped and slid head onto the trees, well first it was the Driver side corner then bounced to the right side of the road and then the left side again. Both side of the road had trees. I was unconcious at the time becuase the air bag hit me so fukin hard. so i was bobblelin like a rag doll -_- . The max split in half as picture shows. Got out with a fracture colour bone and cuts and scratches. spitting out blood from my lips. the weather aws gloomy and cloudy and the tracks was hiddin in a incline, let alone cover in mudd and dirt fromthe tractors from the cow feilds. Front clip was rolled into the swamp about 25+ feet, lol i was unconcious dont know if it flew or rolled. the dark spot on the last pic is where i ended up. Ofcurse, insurence covered everything and car was reowned by the insurence.

Sry for the big pics, didnt want to adobe and resize it at least its HD. cant do eaither while in the text box idk why. Nothing was salvagable on the max bsides 3 rims. the single one on the diver side was completly obliterated. Turbo housing was cracked and turbine shaft was bent along with the blades were chipped. fmic was, lol u figure it out. I was in no condition to be diggining for my parts eaither with a sling to my left arm.

The car? 2000 Maxima 5sp Turbo "Garrett GT28771 .60AR" and yeah yeah egay FMIC, 3" cat,HKS BOV etc turbo parts and several custom parts..... 7psi at 319 hp if i rememeber correctly from the first time i dynoed it when i finished the set up.

MARCH 2011: AFTER THE INCIDENT I WENT OUT AND BOUGHT A 02 MAXIMA 6SP, I AM AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE A MAXIMA FANATIC LOL. THIS WILL BE A MORE CHALLENGING BUILD BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE, AND HOPFULLY I WONT SCREW IT UP THIS TIME AROUND. ALSO, THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT GUYS.

you're lucky to be alive...

why on earth would you go over train tracks at 60mph with a car dumped on coilovers? that would destroy the suspension. sounds like you were speeding too. cant blame you there too much with a turbo car and a straight raod

The tracks was somewhat covered in mud and dirt. was hard to see in the gloomy weather. i wasnt speeding the high way speed limit 55. lol ok i guess u can say i was speeding 60 in a 55 -_- big hairy deal. ofucrse any one in the right mind would yeild to train tracks with coilovers or any aftermarket suspension equiped BUT the fuking tracks was hidden. its on like a small incline up and when u think its only going to be a a incline? but right under it was tracks. its one if those HAVE TO BE moments u know? IRONICLY those skid marks are right after the patches of gravel. yes they're my skid marks when i lost handling. HECk im not driving no 2400lb honda del sol -_- . so im rolling and sliding in the 3300lb or so max lol :O

Terrible accident and you are lucky getting out of it just with one broken bone...
Of course all of us will be missing that beauty too

Wanted to ask - headlights on the first pic look weird and cool ) is that some kind of mod?

yes its custom. originally it was some gay ones from ebay with the black housing and 02-03 look-alike. but i retrofitted a old school BMW 3 series projectors from the local junk yard. I should have taken a close up pic though, sucks that now shes gone. it was nothing fast and crappy. took me the whole weekend to do it with some body fill molding, pirmer, and paint let alone, reasembling it. needs to look flush or i aint puttin it on lol, im picky.

Glad you're still with us. Speed + gravel = sad ending.

This says a lot about the strength and quality of our cars though. Impressive.

I'm glad you're ok. I'm surprised there weren't any RR crossing signs. I think they are mandatory here in PA.

I've seen some wrecked cars before where people walked away, but that one really took a beating...

At best guess, I'd say the car never flipped...amazing..

Those trees are tougher then concrete, had you bounding around like a pin ball!!! Would have looked amazing on video...

I'm glad you made it out safely and yes, you are very lucky.

This is why there is a "Basic Speed Law" which is "No person shall drive a vehicle upon a highway at a speed greater than is reasonable or prudent having due regard for weather, visibility, the traffic on, and the surface and width of, the highway, and in no event at a speed which endangers the safety of persons or property."

I'm going to hazard a guess and say you were violating this law.

Good lord, glad you're okay b/c those pics are raw.

Looking at the impact point (tree, or 'trees'), my mind can't help but visualize a Transformer coming out of the woods and laying waste to the Max before slipping back into the woods.

I reiterate, glad you're okay.

PS: holy <expletive>

i tell you what.. i think it was more of a quality deal seeing as how the cabin of the car seemed to be untouched. i trust nissan with my daughters lives everyday. glad to see that your still kickin it, look at the bright side, now that the old max is gone, its time to move up and do bigger and better mods

That's a terrible accident, but glad you live through it to tell about it. Did they cut off the front end when pulling the wreck back out? or was the hit so hard that everything door forward disappeared? What happened to the crumble zone?

at the crumble zone? well basically the front clipe(windshield forward) rolled into the swap while the cabin and the rest of the car say on the side of the road. i hit BOTH sides of the road of trees like a pin ball and i was unconcious bounding around like a rag doll. so everything door forward disapper.

LOL its more trouble than its worth digging that out from the rubble. yet at the time i had a sling on my left arm so i was in no condition to be messin with it. unfortunatly the car was sold to the insurence within a couple days so i really had no time to take whats still good. witch was nothing. since it being sold it went strait to the junk yard 5 days later

tracks were out of service. havnt heard a train run through that part of town EVER. was my fult too for not expecting a train tracks approching. i dont go fishing everyday but was somewhat familier with the road, yet i take different roads to the fishin spot too so its quite confusin sometimes.

i loved driving it everyday, poured so much money into it. not becuase im stupid and had nothing else to use my money on(according to the GF lol) but more becuase it was a hobby that i work on when i have spare time. i feel alot more proud to drive it if the vehical i drive was build by me and not bought

well first when i regain conciousness i was spitting out blood from my mouth and felt that my calour bone was broken/fractured. i saw a big hole down in on my feets only to think what the heck just happended. i couldn't get out of the driver door so i crawled through the front passenger window only to see my front clip was completly blown off. i kept thinking this isnt happening o sh*t o sh*t o sh*t and so i walked looking for my cell phone becuase it sat in the cup holder right before i hit the tree it was flown out when the impact hit. with no help i was hopeless until some driver came by 15 min later and call the ambulance.
