my question is:
I thought performance wise it shouldn't matter that much!! CLs is probably only a lil bit faster, but the way he describes it, sounds like CLs can just blow the 2k2 Max away???

 

Racing is very very driver dependant. I mean this guy blows a 255hp maxima away AFTER he saw the guy jump? You have to have not 260 but 20hp more to catch up after losing the jump.

There is no way a STOCK CL-S could beat a STOCK 2K2 Maxima. I have seen proof of that on the street, highway, and at the track.

Every time there is a supposed 2K2 Maxima kill by a CL/TL-S, the Acura is either modded or he just made it up.

I was stalked by a CL-S owner today, for real. I was driving down the road and I see a young guy in a CL-S drive by me, we made eye contact for a second. Then in my rearview miror I see the guy quickly turn around and came flying up on my tail. We were at a redlight at this point, he was behind me, I floored it out of the redlight real hard and pulled away from him before he had time to react, then I slowed down and he was comming up real fast behind me. Then every once in a while traffic whould open up and I just flew away form the guy, each time he was in hot persuit but way back. This went on for a good 15 minutes never really achiving anything because traffic was every where. So then he turns around doing a little peel out and goes back to where ever he came from . I figured I whould share this story with you guys because these CL-S owners on the internet are no different then the real world ones, there always out to try to prove there max superioraty, tobad another one failed misserably .

Yep, it's really do bad traffic did not open up, I whould have LOVED to smoke him. He almost followed me to the highway, I could have laid the smack down on him there.

I agree... NAV put me at 284 hp.

 

I just think they are ****ed cause they have over priced hondas. They know that any modded 2k 5 speed (or blown auto kev :-) or 2k2 will smoke them.

 

Maybe his NAV wasn't working correctly, -and that might explain the poor performance of his Honduh product.

 

In the defense of acrua I have come across many CLs around NYC in my 2K2 and I "always" "always" beat them by only one car length, I never blow them out the water. So the CLs is a fast car and consider myself a good driver. (I've been driving since I was 14 and I am 30 now)

 

Who is this guy. I'm assuming Maxima owner turned comedian? Either way, I like the posts. Particularly, the sig.

 

How much horsepower at the wheels do you think I could get if I installed an Acura Nav in my 2K2?

I was just wondering: would it be possible to MOD the NAV to get even more power out of it?

BTW, I did some checking in the appendices of the "Star Trek Technical Manual" and found in the footnotes that even though the starship Enterprise's warp drive was powered by Dilithium crystals, Dilithium crystals are, in fact, an unrefined form of NAV !

Simple answer, the CL-S guy is FOS. Probably ****ed about getting beat by another Maxima.

Now where to begin I own 2k-02 MAX. Run you for breakfast lunch and dinner. Then again my tail pipes aren't exactly stock neither is my ride. YES THE CLS sleeper. I would highly recommend one of you coming flying by me in a max and I will wipe that happy-go-lucky smile off your face Not flaming none of you guys...but just like you non stock guys talking smack....I wish one of you guys come flying by me thinking I am stock and you are going to walk me. That will be the day!

Oh my cousins friend got a 2k2 max, I pulled out a can of whip *** on his auto. He's disappointed that he didn't get his nav too. The extra horsepower would have done him justice on the highway. My headers were screaming murderrrrrrrrrrrrrr all the way down parkway.

 

Anybody get that? Could somebody translate?

I will race any max win or lose but, I am not stock. SO, all of the "I seen a cls on the road and I burnt it, or next time I see one, I will burn it" talk I hope your are seeing me! I will easily take 01-02 max on... stick or auto. And I will be damn if you walk me....

My cousin has a max and I mentioned this in a previous post. His friend envy of his max, bought a 2k2 last month. He has made a couple of roadtrips already and has broken his car in. We have done a couple of turnpike races from toll booth to 120mph and I have beat him each time. We have even done the 0-60 nonsense. I know it's not fair that I am nowhere near stock but that's my same issue with you max cats. Watch out! One day, you will run into me and I will run you where I see you. Light, highway, parkway, around town and traffic Did you understand? Or still

 

What do you have in your car?

 

CAI with heat sheild, HKS Draggers, headers, Pulley, ECU, Spark plugs, new grip tires (changed for winter), tranny cooler and 75 Shot (that's what the tranny cooler is for.)....Soon the RES, I will know more about it this month, 20 something more hp and 15 more torque

Oh the NOS is for my sore-loosing... tho, I only used it once and I am borrowing it from my friend for track purposes.

Over 305hp, still haven't dynoed.

I would LOVE the opportunity to translate...given that my brother is the CLS clown who started that thread...that apparently makes me the brother that he spanks daily. You guys don't hear so much from me because I don't have a whole heckuva lot of spare time right now. Next summer, I get a reprieve from school, and it will be play time.

However, my comments:

1) His car cost $6K more than mine. Had I bought the 5 speed (which, while I'm extremely happy w/ my car, I now somewhat wish I had a manual) $6K worth of upgrades would make my car fast enough to beat him down the track in reverse.

2) These boys have to pay a TON for their upgrades. Comptech headers cost them a thousand bucks and give them a rumored 20 HP. We can get 20 HP out of ours w/less than $500. Comptech sways cost them $300. It's pretty painful to listen to my brother go over all that, and when one spends so much for such minimal gain, I believe it makes one eager to demonstrate to others that which he has done.

3) You've got to understand Minnesota drivers. With a couple exceptions, MN max drivers are fairly passive, and they're also paranoid. So some poor sap has a new 2k2 auto he's trying to break in, so he never exceeds 2.5k rpm, and the ECU has learned to run the car like a grocery getter. I've experienced this on my car when the ECU resets...the auto simply doesn't shift quickly when you slam the pedal. Combine that with the fact that my brother is not one to be trifled with on the highway. And his car is quite fast...I've had some "spirited" sessions in it before.

Forgive my long post, just had to give my several cents worth. My brother just shared his experience and was being honest. And this CLS Lurker...don't know what his deal is...fairly irritating. Just post yer kills otherwise STFU. I took a CLS and a 330 at the same time on a curvy road through Bloomington (in my auto, on my bald Potenza's) but I don't need to start a thread about it...it's all about the driver, and his or her attitude means everything. Peace.

He got lost somewhere in my rear view mirror. He had been messing with me from back on the highway, and when we pulled onto Bush Lake road, I was ahead of him (road is one lane each direction). We came up hard on a CLS who sensed the excitement but obviously didn't know how to drive his car (some young kid, this wasn't my brother FYI). We passed him, but then the bimmer kept oversteering through the turns trying to keep up with me. I don't know, don't ask why, I'm just reporting the facts. Ever since I put on the sway bar, the car sits so darn neutral thru turns (compared to before), it's been the happiest mod for me.
