Drive belts...

Do you guys swear by the OEM belts or will Autozone-Advance belts work just fine? Reason I am asking is with my 528 if you got anything but OEM You can bet the bank you would get squeaks at one point with in a week of install. I am about to do my plugs and want to do the belts(the look pretty sketchy) at the same time.

OEM are quieter. That's been proven.

I would suggest OEM on the PS belt and whatever you choose on the other, only because the PS is kind of a PITA to get to change/tighten, etc.

Whereas the other is really accessible.

True, I had to rig mine on by cranking the car a couple times and my mechanic slipped it on without messing with the P/s pump.

Last time I did belts, i used OEM ones. Till this day they are quite.
But it is a pain to change the second belt on the power steering pump

Nissan doesn't make belts.....they use a supplier, just like everyone else.

Do you know what supplier they use? I'd rather buy them direct rather than have the stealership tack on a profit fee.

The daycos I put in mine two months ago seem just fine.

My old PS belt had the OEM logo still on it - a green T in a white circle. Toyo? I don't think they sell their products here directly. Nissan USA and Canada will likely sell locally sourced parts, not what's installed at the factory. I am sure most of the North American manufacturers have made belts for Nissan at one time or another.

I think I have gates for the serpentine and the advance brand for the PS. No matter how cold or dry it was last winter I didn't hear anything.

In fact, I plowed through several inches of water multiple times at speed (drenching everything) and only heard a couple peeps.

Do check your local dealership. I think there's no much of a difference in price, that's why I went with OEM. Mine have "Nissan" imprinted on them, along with the part numbers.
