Hey guys. So lastweek I had an O2 sensor changed on my '00se. While they were under the hood I let them change my oil.

Since I got it back, I've noticed a metal-on-metal rattle-ish noise. It seems happen on cold starts more often than warm starts. It also seems to be happening around 1500rpms right before the car shifts. Will occasionally happen on a warm start but more often on cold starts. It does not happen every single time.

Any ideas? tia.

 

Heat shield mostlikly go under it and literally poke around with a long screw driver

 

+1 my 2000se did the same thing and it was my heat shield

 

Did you check the oil level? My first choice is to make sure they filled it.

 

i'll double check the oil when I get home. Is the heat shield something they would have tinkered w/ during an oil change/o2 sensor changeout?

 

Something might have got knocked around that was never touched befor and created alittle rattle if you find it try moving it around maybe try a hammer and tap it gently maybe its just hitting something
