What brand of HID Foglights?

I'm wanting to upgrade my foglights to HID lights to match the factory HID lights. There is a brand on ebay right now called Xentrec for around $35 dollars. Anyone have this brand or know if its any good? I've seen suggestions on the board for the DDM brand which is about the same price as the Xentrec. I know several people have done the HID upgrade so opinions on brands would be appreciated.

I got the kit and two ballasts were faulty, but they send me replacement for free. Now waiting for the package to arrive. I heard from others that they are good.

Great kit with lifetime warranty.
Can't beat that when there is only a 35 dollar price tag.

I used DDM, but for some reason, my luck with their ballasts have been eh, I've replaced 3 since December. But they do live by the lifetime replacement, 5 dollars shipping got me new ones over and over.

However, I don't know what will happen when they decide to get out of the HID business, rumor is they are.

I have the Xentrec in my headlights, I hate them. They flicker , its pretty bad on bumps.. Even when the cars just idling without hitting any bumps they still flicker . . Triple checked all conections and etc.

I have DDM in my fogs , they as good so far but its only been a few weeks.

Though my buddie has had bad luck with the DDM ballasts burning out but he said they were good about replacing them.

It's going to be hard to match your factory HID bulbs with use on them, unless they are brand new. I recommend using the best in the game, Philips, long lasting and authentic quality although they are a bit pricey.

Yeah the only way to math would be get replacement bulbs from the same company as the kit you are buying and replace your low beam bulbs (same K. of course).

Thanks for the link. Is the 3000K bulbs a good match to the factory HID lights?

It'd be hard to find phillip OEM fog bulbs I think. Your best bet is those you find.

3000k are bright yellow. You want someting closer to 5000k if you want to match stock.

I have had Xentrec...or whatever the name is in my Acura MDX headlights and fogs for over 4 years.....every once in a while don't turn on just turn off and turn back on ...no problems.,..ever. Also installed them in my fog lights on the Maxima about a month ago.....alwasy come on.....no flicker...no problems. I believe I paid about $40 for the kit. If you want to spend $500 on some "name brand" kit go ahead.......but these bulbs are fine.

As far as I know, Fog lights don't use D2S/D2R like OEM Headlights do, instead they use H3/other small bulbs. If there is an OEM Phillip H3 bulb, I'd be all over that.

You get what you pay for. Any kit under $50 will surely flicker. I have gone through so many HID kits. With all that money I wasted, I could have probably bought a legit kit and it will outlast all the kits I've been through. The flicker is rather annoying, I'll tell you that.

my sis has their 5000k kit and it looks sick. it came out to $60 w shipping tho.

i used hidextra for my fog bulbs but all the rest have been cheap ebay and have lasted me maybe 5 years now with no flickering, no faulty starts.

let me correct that...i had one ebay set that survived a front end collision and still work to this day, going on 5 years.

Their is an OEM Philips H3 Bulbs, how do you think I have my top and bottom Philips 6K Ultinons . There is the section of HCX Philips oem. They match just fine, I've had OEM top and bottom 5K, now 6K Ultinon.

On another note. They have European KET Connections which all you have to do is buy the adapters for AMP that are like $18 a set.

Whoops I got off track here, Here is a Legit Philips Kit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PHILI...Q5fAccessories

But by all means, go with DDM or Xentec. I haven't mentioned but I've had DDM Hid kits and Xentec Hid kits, I've also purchase several of each for different cars of friends and family members and I've never had a problem in 4+ years.

You're right, I was wrong.

I never thought I would see bulbs other than D2S/D2R made by OEM company like Philips. I'm ordering a pair of H3s from that website. All these time retrofitting, I never knew Philips makes other bulbs style.

Thanks for the website.

Be Careful when ordering, read the small print, that price is PER bulb. Very pricey but worth the quality.

I know this is a bump, but I figured it would be better than making a new thread.

I am planning on buying 6000k DDM Tuning hi/low h4s for the my 01 max and matching 6000k hid h3 for the fogs.

Question 1)
I believe I need the mounting bracket, it does not come with it unless I pay the $4 extra, correct?

Question 2)
For the fogs, do I need to do drilling, or just push the glare guard in a bit?
