Service engine light
Service engine light
Its been a while since I came back to this board.
My wife's 2002 max. ses light came on and I did a search on how to pull and reset ses light but for some reason, I can't seem to get the ses light to flash. I followed the instruction, I did the gas pedal and all that. Is there something special that I need to do to get the code and reset the ses on the2002 max.?

It would be easier to go to an auto parts store (such as autozone) and have them connect an OBD scanner and read the codes for free. Unless you live in California where the auto repair indistry has gotten the state legislature to pass a law making that illegal.
I purchased a OBDII reader from Walmart for about $50 bucks that has been a lifesaver. I do a lot of work to my cars and it has been valuable in troubleshooting and clearing codes. They also make software for the computer that can be used with a OBDII to usb cable that can be purchased on EBay for cheap. Good luck.
