WTF!!!! Weak as* fork broke!!!! (pic inside)

So i have had a ACT clutch for like 8 months now and this happens to the fork!!! So I put a new one in like 3 weeks ago and it breaks again!! Why are these forks so easy to break! Now i have to get a new clutch kit with a softer preassure plate FML!!

Did both break in the same place? You maybe could reinforce them with a couple cleverly placed welds.

You could gusset that longer part that goes up to the slave cylinder. Check out this thread:

I would say you added some significant strength to the fork by welding it. Why don't you trust it?

As long as the thickness of the filler materal plus the base metal is greater than just the base metal itself, I'd say it's stronger. Unless the welds are bad, but that doesn't look to be the case.

that fork looks alot stronger now i would try it and if it fails again then id def. find a good condition non broke fork and put those same welds on it, i believe it would be alot stronger because the metal will have not been broken yet...

When push comes to shove, the weakest link shall fail, now that you finally have a bled clutch, your rubber lines or air bubbles aren't what gives, it's the next weak link.....

you should take it somewhere and get it heat treated. when you weld something it will take away and existing heat treatments in the surrounding area. I dont know if they are heat treated in the first place but it might be a good place to start if you want to keep your current setup. i dont know how much it would cost but working on our FSAE car we sometimes just use a blow torch and a brine quench. i dont know exactly what type of metal it is so i couldnt give you exact temp numbers and the apporpiate quench fluid. might be worth a shot.
