Infiniti performance?

Hey all, this is my 1st post on the board, so let me know if i say somethin stupid

I recently purchased an infiniti i30. The car is stock, and will most likely stay that way due to a lack of parts available to it. I do know of a few companies that make parts for maximas tho - and the i30 is really just a decked out maxima. Anyways, i was wondering if there were any performance products out there that would help me bump up the HP level without ricing out the car. After all, this is a luxury sedan... Any words of advice? Thatnks for your time!

Your best bet, for HP per dollar, is definitely a GTR badge and some vinyl decals.

j/k

Pretty much any part that fits a Max will fit your I30. Start with a Y-pipe, this is really most bang for your buck...

Stillen performance is your solution. Stillen Y-Pipe(adds 12hp), Stillen Hi-flo Intake(approx. 8hp). Also Eibach pro-kit springs(significantly better handling). You also would greatly benefit from upgrading your tires to a Michelin Z-rated tire. Welcome to our home on the internet. I have been here for approximately six months and am loving it. These guys don't rice(unlike Honda Civic drivers). Any questions, start a thread, most folks on the forum are very informative. Again, welcome. Congratulations on an excellent choice of vehicle.

wow... you must like getting reamed in the butt.

Stillen Y-Pipe(adds 12hp),
please support non-stillen retailers and manufacturers. Cattman and WSP are good for Y's. as is Budget exhaust, if you're well... on a budget.

Stillen Hi-flo Intake(approx. 8hp).
just CAI it. PR.

also, before posting, try the search option in the rop right, 99% of the time it will get you your info faster and with less hassle and animosity than posting a frequently asked question. don't forget the FAQ's, either.

You can get the Y-pipe and intake from other places than $tillen for a lot less money...

Thanks everyone...

Sounds like you all agree on this "Y-pipe"... but i am a recent honda civic graduate, so i have no idea what this is. Im gonna go hit up the FAQ's and see if i can find out any add. info, unless one of you would like to beat me to it and just tell me? hehe, Oh - and i am very glad to hear that ricing isnt a common offense here... thats one of the reasons i sold my civic in the first place, the scene turned to ****... too many parts available that do too little to the car's overall performance/looks.

well...it's not really lack of parts...it used to be..but there are alot of stuff you can do for I30. like u said, it's mechanically identical to Maxima. intake, y-pipe, and exhaust will all fit without any problems. JET makes an ECU for the 5th gen Maxima/I30, and if you really want, you could install a supercharger(although Stillen won't sell the S/C to automatic owners, you could probably buy it off from someone else who has it). and uh, since you mentioned about not 'ricing out' ur car...just stay away from ridiculous stickers and crazy bodykit.

the y-pipe if the piping that goes from the engine headers to the catalytic converter. the oem nissan pipe is restrictive due to it's diameter and also the presence of pre-cats before the main cat. swapping it out for a performance Y will do a world of good. even the most elementary non-mandrel-bent pipes will add about 10hp and about 10ft-lbs.

WSP Mandrel bent pipe has been dyno'd at 15hp and 17ft-lbs. his numbers seem about right.

Before you flame(like a lttle *****), take the time to read posts of people that have dynoed their cars after modding them out. There you will find those numbers supported, young lady.
