SERIOUS: Frankencar Performance Products INC 2K2 INTAKES FOR SALE
Ok i have been thinking about this for a while, designing some of the mods that we all want that are slightly different that no one will make for us. i have access to several maximas to prototype stuff on. RIGHT NOW, i just proto-ed a short ram intake for the 2002 Maxima. It fits very nicely and the sound is UNBELIEVABLE, MattC will confirm this, best sounding intake i have ever heard. So here is what i want to do i MIGHT be able to have some MAF adapters machined and produce the rest. it will either come with a generic cone intake or a K&N depending on what you guys want to pay and what you want. i will only carry one so i will have to decide. they will be steel and can either come painted with high temp engine enamel for a nominal charge or un painted. I AM VERY SERIOUS ABOUT DOING THIS. how many 2k2 guys would buy one, i need to know so i can get a run of the maf adapters. Email me at skusek_pps@yahoo.com or PM me. feel free to post feedback here. The gains were definetly felt and the sound is SICK. it's a 30-45 minute install tops!! The price will be not much over 120 dollars or so with a generic cone depening on the cost of machineing the adapters.

like i said in another post... with 5 guys in the car... the car pulled EXTREMELY hard. And the sound from 6k - 7k is amazing... hard to explain... but you guys who are interested in it will definitaly notice this.
Pricing is obviously not established due to we dont know how much the MAF adapters will cost to machine, and the type of cone to be used, but it wont be as pricey as a CAI.
I can't say if the gains are better than a stillen, but judgin by the design, the stillen is just a cone pretty much, were as we have extra tubing creating a higher velocity, im guessing this intake setup creates a bit more power.

i'm gonna try to dyno next weekend. MattC your gonna have to come with me. i want to get pulls with the intake and without so i can see some gains. I need some people so show interest before i go spend money to get the Adapters machined though. once i get the price for those i will be able to get a final price. i might also make a stage II kit for it, i might design a heatshield with a OSCAI setup to vent fresh air on it. we'll have to see. i need interested partied first.

thge whole frankencar inc. thing is more of an inside joke than anything... really... i dont think people care about the name... they just want the intake.

Once you dyno, I may be interested. I already have the Stillen Intake. Judging from the location of the filter on the Stillen, I don't know how you would find room for tubing. Not saying it can't be done, just curious. I like your idea...I guess I may be selling my stillen soon.

We are actually working on making this available to all 5th gen maximas, and then 4th gen maximas. Our only issue is that we need a guinea pig 2k - 2k1 to test the 5th gen. The videos and all will be up shortly, if not, i will send the tape out to whoever wants to do it and have them do it, but I am confident i can get this stupid camera to work.

After that maybe 4th gen pieces, but those will be harder to make. this is just the beginning. maybe exhaust parts to come also. i also plan a staged intake setup. Stage 1 being just a cone with adapter. Stage 2 is the Short Ram, stage 3 is a short ram with a heat shield and Modified OSCAI to vent cold air and stage 4 a full CAI. prices will be very competitive, but i need to get suppliers and dealer prices and they can be even lower. any 5th gen around mass let me know. if it works out i will give you a intake at cost.

ok i got pricing on the adapters today.
here are the tentative prices for the intake
SHORT RAM
generic cone=125
k/n=145
plus shipping
CONE AND ADAPTER ONLY
generic=65
k/n=85
plus shipping
these will definetly fit 2k2's and maybe other 5th gens. i'm not sure which filter i will carry but i will decide in a couple days. i want to only carry one. and i'm leaning towards k/n
