Need help...Ignition switch or Starter or Key???

I have an 02 Max with 98k miles. When I turn the key it doesn't start or even make a noise. I turn the key again starts right up. It's happening more and more. Is this the starter or the ignition switch? I thought it might have to do with the chipped key. Anyone have this problem before that can help me out???

Thanks...

Can't say with 100% certainy, but I would check out the ignition switch first, then the neutral starter switch if auto trans, clutch interlock switch if manual trans.
