Firm shifts after car is warmed up
Firm shifts after car is warmed up
So I have a 2000 GLE which I have been noticing some interesting shift patterns whether the engine is warm or cold. When i first start the car in the morning and drive to work, the transmission shifts very smoothly (kinda the opposite of what most people with the 4at have) with pretty much no shift shock. However, after I have been driving the car on the highway for awhile and the car is warmed up, I notice the shifting, particularly the 1-2 shift is much firmer and I can feel the shifts in steering wheel. It not bad like a slipping transmission, but its definitely noticeably firmer. This car has only seen 1 owner (me) and the transmission has been regularly serviced. My question is, is this normal for these transmissions to behave this way or is this something of concern?
