So a buddy of mine who was a parts manager for Nissan back in the day when our cars were new told me he has a brand new AE lip kit for the 5th gen in his garage. I can't really find any good estimates on the web so I don't know what to offer him. I need some expert advice from you guys. I have been on the boards for a couple of years and I have never seen this kit brand new before for sale. All I know is that it is the gray, new and in its original wrapping. He is supposed to pull it out of his garage and get the color code tonight. Thanks for the help.

 

IDK how that's going to fit your 5.5 gen front bumper... but there are some 5.0 gen guys here that would give you their first-born.

I think the good news is that his wife is pressuring him to get rid of the damn kit and I am sure he doesn't know what is it worth. I was thinking of offering a few hundred. Do you guys really think there is interests on here for such an old kit especially when Stillen has them? My car is white so I would have to repaint and I think it may be a sin to have this kit with a brand new factory paint job sanded down.

 

It won't fit your bumper correctly. 00-01 & 02-03 have different noses.

 

I'd pick it up and flip it, man.

stillen doesnt have those kits, its OEM exclusive pretty much aside from the ionic replicas floating around

 

I know that the front bumper will not work, I like how the stillen looks better for the front anyway. I was planning on selling just the front lip and using the rest of the kit but based on what you guys have said I guess I will post it here. Would it be better to sell as a kit or part it out?

 

if you sell as a part out..make sure you have other parts spoken for, which i'm sure you'll have no problems w/.

Ya the front spoiler won't fit your 02. If you really want it though you could get the Stillen one for the front and use the rest of the kit. Not sure if it's really worth the expense?
He should have sold it a long time ago when there were more 5 Gens on the road and still in good shape. I have the Stillen on my 03 and the splash guards are painted to match the car (Silver) so it looks good enough for me.

 

I asked and he wasn't sure. I think I'll offer 350 and see if I can part it to you guys. I figured some really good pics will sell them quickly. I just found out that the kit sold for around $1,100 from the dealer and it was discontinued many years ago. If anyone here is interested in a piece let me know.

 

like others have said, see if you could get it cheap. If you do, you can flip it for nice profit, but will be hard if people know what you paid for it.

 

Uh oh. This is starting to get into "org history" territory.

Not too long ago there was a young man on the Org who fell asz-backwards into an unused set of Hotshot Headers. He was quickly consumed with greed for unattainable riches, and was eventually shunned by the community. Now he wanders the internet, alone, destitute and unloved.

If you can get it for a decent price (anywhere from 100-400 dollars) you could sell the front lip on here and it would pay for itself just from that sale.

 

So what is the final verdict?

 

I'm trying to fight the dark side as rochester alluded to. I will get it within the next few days. I'm in no rush and he is not either. The damn kit has been collecting dust for about ten years. if anyone is interested in a particular piece then just pm me. Once I have it then I will start a classified thread and I know pictures will really help some of you decide.

if it is silver then its KT3 color code. These things are not made by nissan anymore and sough after. there are people on here that would be willing to pay upward of $1000 for the entire kit new painted.

stillen kit aint got nothing on AE.

 

Id honestly just buy it, keep what you want (sideskirts and rear lip) and just sell whatever is left on eBay. Even if you sell the whole kit on eBay, it will go for a high price.

Tip: just don't let the org know when you post it nor your eBay seller name. Keep it anonymous to avoid any problems here on the org. Just know either way your making out with a great deal.

On another note, I have a set of AE mudflaps in silver for sale. Perfect condition, uber rare since their the first to get ripped off before the lip does in a mishap.

I am getting the kit today. My friend pulled all of the pieces out of the box and unfortunately he thinks that one of the pieces are missing. He thinks it is the rear right half of the bumper. The color is KV3 (grey metallic). Is anyone interested in the front lip, side skirts, mud flaps and/or most of the rear lip? I will post pics tonight and start a classified thread.
