who is running hankooks

I had them before and liked them. Since they were the first aftermarket tire I tried I wanted to try a different brand so i brought falkens and they sucked so Im looking for any input on the hankook since they have newer tires out now.

I ran them on my bmw's for many years and absolutely loved them. i ran the V rated and they outlasted the H rated Bridgestones by a long shot, and they hug the road beautifully.

Those are the ones I mostly used, but they have been phased out and superseded by a different model. I don't remember the name of the new ones, but I have used them and they are just as good.

Weird, I'm still able to find it on tirerack:

If you find out the name of the replacement, do let me know. If I look into tires again, I wouldn't mind looking at these again.

I got the hankook v4. I bought them a year ago for $360 shipped & $40 mail in rebate so ended up paying $320... Great tires, went through a rough snowy winter and they get pretty good traction for an all season tire... 80mph under pouring rain and no hydroplaning, and great grip in the corners... Only drawback is they don't seem to last very long. I've had them for 15 months, 20k miles and I'm getting close to the wear mark... Probably because of the way I drive...

Prices seem to just skyrocket once you get above 16". I had to do some searching and got lucky.

I was able to get some place to pricematch what I had found online. It came up to like $78 a tire and then they charged for install n warranty or somethin along those lines.

Would have rather instlaled it somewhere else but they wouldn't let me get warranty without, etc.

Quicklane had a $100 rebate, I was able to find the tires for $78 a piece after shipping online somewhere (think it was Sears).

installed was around 360-370 and then a 100 rebate.

I bought my car with V4's. Same experience as everybody else here, good all season tire, good cornering grip, but just to let you know when they get down close to the wear marks they get REALLY loud. At least mine did anyways. Kumho ASX's are a pretty good tire too in the same price range, I have them now and I'm pretty happy with them.

I'm with you on that

I'll probably need some tires in the spring. A lot of tire shops seemed to recommend the Hankooks, so now I just need a decent price.

I guess the new model is the Ventus V2 Concept. The V4ES is still offered on the Hankook website. (http://www.hankooktireusa.com/Produc...um=2&FnCode=02) I guess my tire guy didn't know what the heck he was talking about last time I bought them...

Hankook is offering a rebate up to $80 through the end of November:

I am running Hankooks, it's my second time running them. They are awesome tires, got mine for $245 from one of my buddies. He ran it for a week and decided to go with Blizzaks since his house is on a hill. That turned out to be VERY GOOD FOR ME!

I have them Ventus tires and dont like them. They lose traction to easy to me and in the rain they are really not good. But that is my experience. Most people here seem to love them, maybe I got a bad batch..who knows.

I love them Hankook Ventus HR-II running them over some 3+ years now in the summers. They are a very good bang for the buck summer performance tire. I have no problems with them, sometimes they can be slightly noisy... but oh well.

I ran some Nankangs for 2 years and they definately lived alot shorter than the Hankooks
