e brake wont release

Hey guys got a 03 maxima se and the e brake on the rear right is getting stuck checked the left side and it release fine. Read. My mechanic told me it waa thr caliper. Bought a new caliper and same thing. Dont if if its an adjustment issue, another important thing is that the e brake handlr has play. Read somewhere the there is a 10mm adjustment bolt under the handle. Want to see whats you guys think. Thanks in advance

Cable could be frozen. You have a mechanic that couldn't figure it out after looking at it?

Gotcha. I wouldn't replace anything until I confirm what is wrong. You can check the cable by looking for unrestricted motion at the caliper while someone is engaging it inside the car. It needs to engage and release.

Check out page BR-35.

It depends what the issue is... since the caliper itself is (probably) ruled out, that leaves a sticky cable... or perhaps just the adjustment of the lever.

Unless it's a used caliper that's also frozen.

When I bought my Max back in May, the RR caliper wouldn't move at all when the E-brake was pulled, so I was getting very minimal grab (from the LR only). I beat on it to work the mechanism back-n-forth... but quickly decided that a new (reman) caliper was in order.

Of course, if you put new pads on it when you did the caliper, the adjuster on the e-brake handle will need to be backed off significantly.

The problem is that it engages but doesnt release all thr way even with the new caliper im going to lift it up and get under the car to check out the cable. The rear left work perfectly, it engages and release fine. The only thing i could think of is that the cable is shot.or can each side be adjusted independtly?
