Rust Assist? Name that part!

Soooo just a part of my own problem getting a car from Ohio was the rust that came with it. Just needed some help on identifying a part and maybe even some tips?

Yes yes I realize my upper & lower oil pan will need replacing but what is the part below? Oil return line?
Also, is this part 'pressurized'?...meaning it can give at any moment and start puking oil everywhere?

Is replacement fairly easy? I was thinking: Drain oil, unclamp rubber hose from both sides and replace rusted line. (at the same time I will replace the upper/lower oil pan)

Pic is under car facing forward...passenger front wheel to the right.

Thanks for any help...and yes, Rochester, I know you're cringing right now.

I actually believe that that's the oil cooler line...

Same part I banged and bent running over a curb a few months ago.

The metal line that runs parallel to the oil pan was literally a 10 minute job.

Loosen the two bolts securing it to the car, unclamp the hose at both ends, install new one.

The only thing is that you'll need to top off your coolant once you're done. I lost a good bit when I replaced mine.

That is the oil cooler line. It is not difficult to replace it however with the much rust, the bolts that secure it will most likely be the biggest issue with replacing it.

Yes sir.

So your main concern shouldn't be it puking oil all over the highway, but rather coolant.

It's not a very high-pressure line, though, so you should be okay for a while.

Finally got around to installing this...if you're quick enough you won't lose much antifreeze, I'm not quick.

Anyway, here's a couple of pics with the piece removed. Oh, replacement part was around $20 from Courtesy...lol

Funny thing in the uninstall of the part? Once the bolts were removed and the piece moved a little it immediately started leaking antifreeze. Talk about 'just in time'!

Looks like you got to it just in time. How long did it take to change?

Only took around 20 minutes...2 bolts hold it on. Hardest part is keeping the antifreeze from coming out. A second pair of hands probably would have been the key.

Had the same issue over a year ago, replacement was pretty straight forward, the oil cooler line is prone to rusting out given all the salt they love to put down on the Ontario road ways.
