Blower Motor resister Help!!!

Ok my blower motor resister blew so i ordered one and it came in with this gue stuff on the resister chip,(my finger pointing to it) i just want to know if the gue on the chip do i have to remove it. cause my old one dont have that on it, and i would think that it wouldnt fit without removing that gue.

I don't know for sure but that drop of goo may be there to prevent a screw from coming loose or as a tamper seal. Is there anything on the other side? Since there doesn't look to be any electrical components on that side of the printed circuit board, I'd say put it in.

nope other side is just blank grey!! i try putting it on see if i even could..

That is where the actual resistor is. Most of us (I've done it twice to mine), just soldered across when that portion blows instead of buying a new one.

thanks guys for the quick response!! i've intsall it and it works, i guess i didn't see there is acutally enough room/gap for me to slip the chip under the blower motor without it touching the goo!
