I dont get what could be going on with my throttle response ...

I have a 2002 6spd and its done this to me 4 times this year , once back in like May and twice this past October and now tonight when I stopped at the gas station on the way from work.

I floor it and it slowly revs to 4k and cannot go past that , the car will struggle to move but it feels like its suffocating ....it usually fixes itself after a lot of stopping starting , disconnecting etc. I got an '05 TB from another member and swapped that on tonight and I noticed the one that I took off had a rattle inside it so I was like " hmm well that must be the thing that's broken" so I put the new one on and fired it up and its the same thing

I scanned and these are all my codes ( yes a know I have a lot, and yes I need to address them )

x2 p1800-VIAS Control Solenoid Valve Circuit Malfunction
p0455-EVAP System Gross Leak (0.080") Detected
p1448-Vacuum Cut Valve
x2 p0507-Idle Speed Control System RPM Higher Than Expected
x2 p0227-Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor C Circuit Low Input
x2 p1227-Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input
x2 p0226-Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor C Circuit Range/Performance

what else could be causing this, I did a search but couldnt pin point an answer

What codes did you have with the correct tbody? I would start there. Reinstall your tbody, relearn, and gather any newly tripped codes. Then report back.

my browser saves stuff that you type into a search bar ( like how you don't have to type your name every time you log into facebook/ hotmail etc ) and all these codes have been entered before so it was the same with my old TB

based on the codes you have it seems like if you addressed them it would fix your issue

The behavior your describing reads like a coil pack that has intermittent failure issues. They don't always throw a code right away, and sometimes the problem magically goes away for a while. But it will come back, and with greater frequency.

Unfortunately, you need the code to find the failing coilpack. The very expensive alternative is to replace them all.

Same exact thing happened on my 2000 auto. The throttle response was so bad and even my mechanic said it was weird for a V6 to not have very much throttle response as mine did. My car started idling then shutting of when ever I would be stopped at a light and it also shook violently when i slowed down. I did some research and had the throttle body cleaned as well as new spark plugs. Mechanic said the throttle body was really dirty and when i got my car back it was a like a whole new car. Plus i saved money cuz the mechanic didnt have to go looking for the problem. Thats just my experience tho

Yea check coilpacks. Sounds like a typical Nissan problem.

really ? Like the sparkplug coils or whatever ....I cant see the connection but okay. so I gotta take the top half off right to get access to the back 3 right ?

I'm not car expert, but this is the same thing that happened to me, but I don't remember all those codes. It happened because I was messing around with the TB and messed around and accidentally disconnected that EVAP hose....car was all lazy responding, stuttering when I accelerate, then it would shut off at times. All kinds of codes popped up, cant even remember there were so many, but I do remember TB codes and a EVAP code, vacuum code being thrown and also a VIAS solenoid code like you. So I finally looked at it and the EVAP hose was disconnected. So reconnected it and reset all those codes and everything was fine. You might have an leak, like that P0455 code suggests......check the hoses. That electronic TB is very sensitive....so anytime you messing around with that be VERY careful. When I was testing the 09 Maxima TB on mine I threw all kinds of codes......part of the reason I went and got Cipher.

I've done everything you guys have said so far , still no dice. I didn't bother doing all the work just to look at the rear coils because I don't have any replacements on hand anyway , and I didn't see any leaks in the bay....I took my intake, battery etc off and when I put it back together : 2 things - the car revved nice and strong at idle( like it did last night ) but once I put it in gear it went limp again and I accidentaly hit the cruise control button with my finger and noticed where it says " cruise , set " on the dash that "set" was blinking rapidly ....? If I didn't do the relearn correctly could the car still be thinking I have the old TB in there ?

There will be no visible evidence of a failing coil-pack, so I don't know what you're looking for. Then again, you should be getting a misfire SES code by now, too.

Bummer, man. Take it to a mechanic. Merry Christmas, eh?

yes, took the intake off , 4 screws and an electrical plug and then put the new tb on....I cant see how I missed anything major

.....and the problem with getting to a mechanic is.... my car is in an underground garage at my condo...which means I have to go up the incline to get out...lol this thing isn't producing enough power to go faster than I can run.

As we discussed tonight, APS (accelerator (pedal) position sensor) that your mechanic has suggested may be where the fault lies ... and you are throwing the related codes. Some reading has shown that when the APPS begins to fail the ecu will go into limp mode which is what your car appears to be displaying.

Hopefully the replacement accelerator pedal assay that you picked up from me will resolve the issue.

This sorta issue really sucks. Maybe you can get a used pedal for cheap.

So I ended up taking it to the mechanic ( I should write a movie about how I got the car out and across my area omg lol ) .....he was just as stumped as I was...tried everything I did ( resets , battery , delete codes )and such...but his scanner revealed " accelerator position sensor " so with this we were like MAYBE there's something having to do with the 6th gen TB that I put on ..or its my pedal itself.. like a miscalculation thing ...so he said if I could source the sensor on the pedal then he could put it on...then I remembered that Ghost had an assembly on our local boards up for sale...so I got in touch with him right away and managed to go pick it up....two nuts and a plug ( 10 min job ) and the new accelerator assembly was on...did a couple back and forth runs in my buddies driveway and everything seemed good.....I did the pedal dance to reset the sensor or whatever and then drove to the gas station just to see if it was ok....there I cleared the codes and now my SES light is gone as well

so basically I replaced my TB ( throttle body ) thinking it was the TPS ( throttle position sensor ) inside of it when it was really my APS ( accelerator position sensor ) located at the top of the accelerator pedal.

now it runs fine , idles fine and no ses light

Well that is great news that something as simple as replacing the "acceleration pedal assay" resolved the issue for you, it was after finding these two short youtube video that I began to understand just how APS can also through the ECU into limp mode.
