$2,000 rims?

First off i have used the search button on maxima.org and google so I dont need people telling me to do so when the point of a forum is to ask questions and learn from each other. Anyways I am new here and have owned my Maxima for 2 years and I'm looking into purchasing new rims cuz the 350's wont cut it. I've read countless post about replica rims being horrible blah blah blah. What I'm wondering is if there are any rims that look like the XXR 521's but aren't replicated? Honestly I can't find a rim I like better than the XXR 521s as far as the style im looking for which is a 18x(9-10) with 25-30 offset (im a daily driver mostly freeway to Seattle). I am willing to save for rims up to $2000 but I don't really like the look of those pricey rims and I dont want to pay 2grand on some rims just so someone wont think I'm cheap. I know these kind of XXR's replicate the BBS LM but Im looking for an all black rim and if i pay $2,000 for a set of wheels i dont want to pay another $600 or more just to get them painted. I am also going to be buying BC racing coilovers for those of you who will comment on me needing a drop but i want to buy rims first so i can lower it and get a wheel alignment.

That will fit on the back with a slight strectch. Front will need a little camber to clear.

i have two different types of tires on right now cuz the wheels i have are from a 350z. I would just buy new tires and drop but the drop will depend on the wheels and im not sure if the tires i buy for the 350's will fit the rims i get. N the drop is going to be flush which means ill be having to lower the coilovers again and im not looking to get an alignment twice. Overall when it comes down too it rims-tires-drop is the way for me to go.

mmk. Ive seen simple n clean pull of that 10.5 so i was thinking it could be possible but 10.5 is to much poke for me. Do you think i should get a spacer in the back or will i even need that with these rims?

You shouldnt need a spacer unless you want to go with a super aggressive look. That's all up to you.

ill just see what they looked liked dropped and everything and then decide. What do you think everyone sayin drop then rims is that the smarter way to go or does it make more sense to get the wheels then drop? Thanks for answerin all these questions btw

Definitely get a drop before rims. Aftermarket rims on stock suspension looks absolutely stupid. I've done it and I regret every minute of it. Spend some money on a good set of coilovers. You will love the ride, love the handling, and love the range of adjustments.

I actually love the way dropped maximas look on OEM nissan wheels. with just spacers. You might like the look and end up keeping it. If I could do it all over again, that's honestly probably what I'd do.

you will be fine... with 10.5 you will in fact need some fender work, but all in all the 521's are good... you lower it enough to at least cover 1/8th of the tires and stretch the tires a lil bit, then beat off every time you look at it

I dont like the BBS but the Works are nice. My cars prollay only worth 5-6 grand though so it dont need 3 grand rims haha.

Yeah that is what I was thinking on the rims like I will take some XXR replicas, my ride is cool but isn't in Magazines or Car shows no need to spend 3200 on rims and maybe another Grand on tires, even though I do love those Volks TE37s......and BC's are great got em on my ride love em.....

Have you ever thought of powder coating? You can always buy a cheaper set of wheels with the same style of the XXR's and then powder coat them. I know it's relatively inexpensive. Guy with Utahnissans.com does them for $25-50 a rim.

I also agree with dropping the car before you get some nicer wheels. Cars with aftermarket wheels look silly on stock ride height.

Merry Christmas btw.

That's true i think ill prollay just go with XXR's because i know it will look like i want it to. and ya i actually thought about powder coating the 350 rims i got now but they got alot of curb rash from the guy i bought it from so it be a lot to fix those up but that is always a fall back if i like the way my car looks lowered on the z's. Merry Christmas to you to!!
