Stock Grills...

Guys, I am starting to think our stock grills are NOT part of our bumper. It just takes some doing to remove them.

Here is a picture of a 2020 Altima who removed his. I bet ours comes out too.

Hey Russ,

Do you know if the stock scoop intake shown on the altima in your link could fit on the 2K or 2K1. Curious because the scoop spans the entire width of the grill. Nice breathing....pfssshhh

Is the 2k2 max scoop the same? (Spanning the entire width of the grill)

Russ,

How did you make you grill? Is there a write-up somewhere? I like how that grill looks, especially when compared to the stock.

I posted a write-up of the install a while back in the 5th Gen Installation/How-To's Section. It includes instructions for both the main grille and valence grille.

Russ,

The grille on the 2000 & 2001 Maximas are part of the bumper, all one piece. The only piece that comes off, which usually leads everyone to believe that it is separate, is the grille trim. It surrounds the grille and is a charcoal grey on the SE & chrome on the GXE & GLE I think. The surrounding grille trim is attached with several screws around the perimeter. I know this to be true, because I had to physically cut the grille off of the bumper for my Speed Grille install. Be careful though, because the surround trim was most likely painted at the same time as the grille, so the seem where they meet will separate and damage the paint there. There is black foam beneath the center vertical grille column (with Nissan emblem on it) at the bottom, beneath the surrounding trim. Also, bet most people don't know what's beneath the bumper...styrofoam, yes & it's taped on with a sort of packing tape which is used for boxes. Peace.
