what do you think about getting a used supra turbo and getting some custom piping and putting it on a 2k2 max?

Well, I think you've answered your own question...

If you can do it, cheaply, and you want to... go for it...

Let me know how it works out...

the maxima engine cant take much boost from turbo, no more than 10psi i'd say, and its not as easy as u think to custom mount those turbos into the engine bay of a maxima, u would need to fabricate a new turbo exhaust manifold to run the proper piping through the turbo, but if thats not a problem then go for it. u would need some extensive mods to make sure its running properly.

Turbo w/o proper fuel/air management can be very bad for your engine. Too much boost, wrong fuel mixtures, etc. and your engine is bye bye. As for better mileage.. doubtful, you'll prolly be hitting WOT much more just for the fun of it and gulping down a lot more fuel.

ask the people that have actually done this project, Turbo95max and yo_its_ok namely, and im pretty sure they will tell u, its a ridiculously difficult project, making the piping is one thing but having to fabricate manifolds and stuff like that from scratch, no fun at all. its definitely not impossible but it does take a lot of patience and a lot of work.
