just in case anybody ever thinks of

hello all learnt something today that i wanted to share with everybody...most of us who own a 5th generation maxima will at some point experience the sunroof stop working ...if you have tried the reset procedure and it did not work ...do not waste your time pulling out the relay if the following is true....1. your power locks work and ..2. your power windows work when i pulled out the gray relay that controls the sunroof my power locks and power windows stopped functioning what that tells me is that that relay also controls them thus if they are working then the relay is good and it is not the problem...so tried the reset and tried the relay and also found out that there is no juice at the motor so there must be a short somwhere between the relay and power motor

There is a white/red stripe wire going to the motor that should have 12 volts on it. This comes from a circuit breaker that is also used by the door windows and power seats. I think this circuit breaker is what you are calling the gray relay. So if you don't have 12 volts on that white/red wire, there is a wiring problem.

Also, the sunroof circuitry is a little different between the 5 and 5.5 gen cars. If you have any future questions, please tell us what year your car is.
