New Nismo low-temp Thermo

I dont own a VQ35 but I figured I would post this for those that do. Nismo recently released its low-temp thermostat. 154 degrees. With the factory opening temp set at 170 degrees the 16 degree reduction is said to reduce running temp and run cooler for longer under extreme conditions. Recommended for competition and "off highway vehicles" Read on http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?i...M01&c=PE&m=all

Not the thermo lol I meant in general Mishimoto stuff is overpriced(I get off topic quick). The Nismo thermo isnt that much though I dont know where you found that price. Dealer lol? Some people only go with genuine parts. Just forwarding the new stuff. Nismo stuff is ridiculously expensive

With a temp that cold, that should be for a "track only" car.

For the record, the Z33 unit opens @ 170ºF, the Maxima unit opens @ 180ºF.

Shim the stocker or get a Z33 unit and shim it.

Nothing new here.

Jime tried it (154º Nismo unit) and during the winter months and even small drives around town in the summer, he never got into open loop. That's not good, rich AFR's, clumsy ECU control, etc.

Too cold, IMO.

If you really want to cool your car off, get a larger radiator.

To an extent. But I do not drive my car during the winter months anyway.

I remember I used to get a SES light for coolant temp during the winter months.
