Pass door lock wont work

My 02 pass door lock doesnt want to unlock most of the time. Using the button will only move it like half and sounds like it binding up. You just have to keep locking/unlocking till it comes open. any suggestions?

take off the panel to get a better look at whats going on before it stops opening completely. I've seen it happen on a max before and he had to remove the passenger seat to pull off the panel and open it because the door wouldnt open and the locking mechanism was broken

I had this same problem occur a week ago.
As BigLou55 said above, LOOK INTO THIS BEFORE YOUR DOOR STAYS SHUT COMPLETELY. This happened to me and I had to do this process by removing my back seat and doing it all with the door closed...not fun!

I ended up replacing latch assembly, you can rip them out of a junkyard car for a decent price.

First take off the door panel:
1. 1 screw under the black insert in the window switch trim, then pop off the trim.
2. Pull off the whole panel, its held on by a few clips.

Here's a picture of my old one with my junkyard replacement...

See that blue circle piece? The little arm its attached to has a spring that goes back and fourth that allows the door to open. Mine was stuck in the position where it thought my doors were always locked, so pulling either of the handles didn't open the door.
Either the spring went or there was alot of gunk not letting that arm have enough play to move anymore.

So try to reach your hand through the door (I hope your hands are small) or use a coat hanger to pull that blue thing back up, if your door opens that's your problem.

To remove the assembly:
1. 3 Philips head screws on the side of the door above and below the latch.
2. 3 10mm bolts on the inside of the door around the same area.
3. Pop out the door and lock metal rods that are set into the assembly.
4. Jiggle around the assembly until you can work its way out of the door.
5. Replace new one following these directions in reverse.

Hope this helped. Good luck!

a part like that you MIGHT be able to find at your local auto parts store but I doubt it(no sure either) seems like an item that wouldn't bring in much revenue for the aftermarket parts companies. I would go to a dealer as a last option only. Cheapest place will be a boneyard. Oh and make sure thats what you need before you start throwing parts at your car. good luck

Make sure that is in fact the part you need then try courtesyparts.com, but be warned you will be paying close to double for it there than from a scrap yard.
