Coolant system problem

Hey guys whats up. Just recently I have been having this problem with my heat. some day s i wouldn't have any and some days i would. i changed the radiator back in june when i bought the car because it was broken. now i just recently noticed that the outlet side of the motor was burning hot while the inlet side is freezing cold. i changed the thermostat and filled it back up and now i have heat but it is still doing the same thing hot on one side cold on the other. even with a brand new cap on it as well also when it does get hot (about 195-200 degrees F according to scan tool) the fan just stays constantly on. is there any special air bleeding procedure for this car? any help would be appreciated.

The radiator fans are supposed to run at low speed when the coolant temperature reaches 200 degrees, if you believe the FSM. That part is normal.

When you burp the radiator, it helps if the car is on an uphill incline, the steeper the better. To make the job a little less messier, before you start the car, open the radiator cap. If the coolant is filling the radiator tank, suck out about 3/4 of it. The coolant will expand as it warms up and any air bubbles will cause the coolant to spray all over. But keep an eye on the level. If the coolant level drops and the cooling fins become exposed, add more coolant.

As a worst case senario, look at post # 31 in the link posted by memphisballer.

i did burp the system tonight everything is checking out fine. it is just weird to mae that the inlet side by the thermostat is stone cold. i have heat and the fans do come on at about 195 and stay on. i guess there is nothing wrong. it was just weird to me that there is that vast of a diiference between the inlet and outlet sides of the radiator. thanks for your help

I would not expect the lower radiator hose to be cold if the water was circulating. Warm to very warm perhaps. But then I don't live in as cool a climate as you do. Maybe the radiator cools better than I expect???

Not to bring up a dead thread. But still having same issue. Now the heat situation is even worse. Going to try bleeding the system per the fsm. Don't know where else to go from here. Also I noticed the the blend door motor is working, maybe I'll check to see if that is properly lined up too.

People have a lot of problems with non-Nissan thermostats. Maybe that is your problem?

maybe i'll try that. i do have to solve a small leak anyway. i also noticed recently that some days i have heat some days i don't. when that happens thought i either has all hot or freezing cold. when i try to adjust the temp one "click" to the right(slider) its burning hot. i did notice dried up soda all over th heater controls when i first bought the car, so i'm going to try sourcing a new control panel first and seeing if that hepls.
