TOMORROW MORNING IM GONNA REMOVE THIS REAR BUMPER. ANYBODY KNOW EXACTLY HOW TO DO IT? ITS A 2002 SE

IM NOT WORRIED ABOUT "BASHING"

DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT GRIT, SAND PAPER I SHOULD USE TO GET ALL THE PAINT OUT? 180 OR 240 TO START?

 

You have never said what you are doing, just asked how to remove the bumper. What paint are you sanding out?

 

I GOT A DENT IM GONNA HEAT UP AND POP OUT, THEN IM GONNA SAND IT DOWN TO BARE PLASTIC, SO I CAN FILL IT IN, PRIME IT AND BRING IT TO A SHOP TO PAINT, TRNYA SAVE SOME DOUGH.

I'm no body guy but I don't think you need to sand it down to the plastic. I would wetsand the entire bumper with 400, then if you want to fill in something do it then. I also wouldn't rattle can prime it unless you want to sand the whole thing again after.

But that's just my amateur opinion.

 

I HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT BODY WORK, I JUST FIGURED IF I POP THE DENT OUT, SAND THE WHOLE BUMPER ALL THE WAY DOWN, FILL IN THE DINGS, MAKE IT NICE N SMOOTH AND PRIME IT, ID BE READY FOR IT TO GET PAINTED.

u settin urself up for failure...never, never, never sand a bumped all the way down to pair plastic, unless You are gonna use a good 2k primer....no cheap rattle can ****, also never put filler in a bumper.....a bumper is supposed to be flexible, it wont be flexible if its covered in body filler..... honestly though just heat up the area with a heat gun.....no hair dryers. and work the dent out with the handle end of a screw driver cause its gonna be really hot...then get 1 sheet of 180 wet dry and sand out the imperfections, dont sand there to long, then switch to 320 wet dry paper and wet sand it, then to 400 w/d paper......prime it 3 good times and let it fully dry in between coats,cause if u dont the solvents in the primer will shrink and it will look like dodo.
spend a lil time on this website and it will save u a lot of headaches and time, and ur so called dough....also to remove the back bumper u will need a 10mm on a 1/4 ratchet...theres like 6 or 8 bolts in there holdin it, and u have to take ur tail lights out also to remove a plastic clip...then theres a 10mm in the fender well on both sides, and a handfull of plastic clips on the bottom

 

To remove the rear bumper all you need to do is
1. Tie long piece of rope around bumper center
2. Tie loose end to street pole or tree
3. Start car put in drive smash gas pedal down
4. Put car in park exit car walk back pick up bumper or drive home dragging bumper behind you it will remove most of the paint to aide you in the refinishing process.
5. Stop yelling in every thread you start.
