Southpoint Nissan's crazy prices

My 02' i35 is approaching 100K so I thought I'd finally bite the bullet and place an order from Southpoint Nissan, as I've done many times before. Talked to a guy named Dave, but I learned that Dave Burnette is no longer there. I just got a big surprise!

plugs - $19/ea x 6 / $114

coils - $118/ea x 6 / $708

upper plenum gasket - $38

rear valve cover - $169 (Guy was pushing the 02 valve covers, I would have pushed back for the 04's since there a better choice, but didn't get that far with the guy because I was so stunned)

my list goes on but honestly I just stopped him there and said I'd need to shop around. Has anyone else switched parts suppliers as a result of their prices? I thought this was the preferred spot for .org members!

Lol @ $169 for a rear valve cover. Jesus an '04 would have cost ~$40...maybe the extra $129 was for lube?

Yeah they're nuts. They deal with the infiniti's as well and seem to be the only real source online I've found thus-far for dealer components.

Why aren't you using Courtesy Nissan? That's where most guys on here get stuff as far as I'm aware. Of course, it all depends on what you're getting.
VC I got locally at Nissan in canada (inflated pricing) for only $45 IIRC, 6th gen of course.

The spark plugs you can go to any part store and get the NGK Laser Plat's, getting them from the dealer is no different except dealer costs more. Same plugs just different box.

I actually got my NGK plats off eBay brand new for half.

Courtesy is great and competitive, but Tri-cities Nissan (link I posted above) beats their pricing....

Our contact at Southpoint, Dave B, was laid off some months back, so no, that is not the preferred spot any longer.

EDIT: Dave did provide someone else who might be able to help:

Go to Greg Vogel at GSpec Performance at www.gspec.com. We have dealt with him on many of our SR20 projects and VQ35. Very fair, very straight forward. He does not list all of his parts but give him a call. He can get just about anything.

infinitipartsusa.com has been my one stop shop for Nissan/Infiniti parts for over 8 yrs.If there was a difference in Dave B pricing it was always +- 2-3 bucks max shipping included.I even came out a few bucks cheaper on the almighty high pressure steering hose months back using them.

I talked with Rusty @ Gunn this afternoon, his price per coil was $85.60. Very personable guy, seemed knowledgeable.

I use nissanpartszone.com and the entire coil assembly for a 2002 Maxima is $80.76 + s&h. The coil pack without the part that plugs onto the spark plug is more, $86.09 + s&h.

Here is the parts page from nissanpartszone.com:
