When the rear seat is folder down, how much more useful is the trunk space.
When the rear seat is folder down, how much more useful is the trunk space.
My only major gripe about my 3rd & 4th gen is that the back seat doesn't fold! Did they get this right with the 5th gen?
Anyone have any pics of this?

I agree. Long narrow items are fine, but not larger rectangular ones.

Yup they fold down, but I find the passthrough a little oddly shaped to pass some items through....

i had to call my dad and have him bring his van. the boards fit in the trunk, but didn't go through the opening when i folded the seats down. nissan almost got it right, maybe next time

That hole is totally too small. It must be for structural rigidity or some other function. Otherwise why make it so small?

I actually haven't had to fold down the seats yet though.

I once had the child locks on the rear door and could not get out. the windows were too small to escape out of.also, I did not want to step on the leather climbing out the sun roof. Freeing myself was almost impossible
!Fearing for my life I popped the trunk button on the remote and climbed out the trunk to safety
I'm eternally grateful to Nissan for equipping the maxima with an escape hatch
NO Lie!
But yeah the opening is kinda trapazoid shaped and a little awkward for " passing things through".

the opening behind the seat is so short and narrow. it doesn't really yield that much more space. now that i have a sub box in the trunk, i pretty much delete that hold period.
