Car starts, but dies right after 2k2 AT

I just recently disconnected my battery for around 24 hours while re-doing the audio install on my car (same equiptment but new box and new placement) ever since I did on the first startup of my car after sitting the RPMs plummet and it dies unless I rev the engine, but then on the second try it starts up without an issue. I'm not sure if im having battery problems or what, nothing lights up on the dash, im not sure what to do. The amp is only a 350 watt powering a single 10", and I never had problems before. Any help is really appreciated

Thanks!

It sounds like an alternator issue.

I would test the alternator output at the battery when the car is on and make sure its charging

Make sure none of your battery posts are loose...

I'll get my alternator checked at AutoZone tomorrow, as for the battery terminals, those are both on tight, but I did notice some corrosion on my ground so I'll take care of that as well. Any other possibilities I should look into?

Only other thing I could think of would be the fuel pump? I am not sure.
I only say that because you mention that you have to rev the engine to keep the car on.

Get the alternator checked out at autozone and if thats not whats causing the problem, which I think it is, just come back and we'll have to diagnose further

I was thinking it was electrical, I'll go get it checked out tomorrow, AutoZone is closed tonight and the car is still going for now. Would an alternator going out be somewhat common at this age? I haven't put much of an electrical strain on it, the only extra power drain is that 350 watt amp and thats really not much...

yeah its certainly not uncommon for a 10 year old car.
Whats weird is that mine just went out today actually.

I was driving to this huge meet today and my car shut off as I was driving several times.
I had to eventually keep the revs up to keep the car running to get to my space at the show.
Its strange how things happen you know, one minute everythings fine, the next its all going wrong

2000 Maxima? Needs your throttle body and IACV cleaned out to prevent the car from dying when it reaches idle speed. Dieing on first start on warm is the classic sign of that. You can even clean the TB and IACV right on the car. Just take off the rubber snorkel to get access to it and spray with a good TB cleaner.

Got the battery tested and it looks like one of the cells might have gone bad. Does that seem like it could cause these problems? I'm gonna have my uncle who works with cars take a look at it this weekend, but i'm just getting a feeler

It is extremely bad for your car's health to knowingly run with a bad battery. It will cook your alternator and could cause problems with ECM. A new battery costs $75 or under. Get a new one now.
