5th gen Off Topic Thread (Official Ghustle thread v1)
Is the Dart going to be RWD, though? If the FR-S is as much of a blast to drive as all of the car magazines are saying, I might seriously consider it...
$25,000 gets me a fully-loaded 6MT with a premium sound system. They haven't released a whole lot of aftermarket stuff for it yet, but it's out there.
$1300 more gets me a no-deductible, 100k warranty. Not sure if I want to get it, though. That's a lot of miles to drive and fight the mod bug.

Seriously, what in the living fuak is this.
By the way, I'm all for NYC banning 44oz sodas at BK/McDonald's/other places.
It's good to see someone stepping up to all the obese MF's out there and saying, "Enough is enough."
If you really think you need 44 ounces of Coke to eat a Whopper and some fries, well, sorry. That's a personal problem you need to work on. Granted, I don't agree with them banning everything BUT 16 ounce-sized cups, I think it's time we start making steps to crack down on the issues we're having here in the U.S.

Subaru BR-Z is its brother that uses Toyota's heads and fuel injection system, but is basically a competitor to the FR-S. If you line the two cars up, though, I think the FR-S looks better overall.
The only thing that concerns me, is that I'm going to be PISSED if I go buy an FR-S, and Nissan releases a new S-chassis in 2014.
Scion FR-S is the Toyota AE-86 in Japan. My local stealer is actually offering to put the Toyota badges on the cars they sell for an additional $150.

they probably are planing a new S chassis.

Yeah I'm using it again

Deal with it.
Yeah... Seldom see a hyundai motor or transmission being requested.
If my insurance wasn't like $260 a month I'd be getting a veloster now.
That car can pull nearly a G on the skid pad and Variable Intake and Exhaust cams, 30 city mpg 40 highway.... Yeahhhh I can dig it.
If you search around, you can't really find a definite answer.
One site says yes, another says yes, but not in the U.S., another says no, another says they were, but they canned it in favor of promoting the Skyline 250GT/G25.

Im not fan of these wheels but somebody needs to put some Work Meisters or SSR SP1s on a 4th/5th gen. Yes these wheels:

It has to be somebody that wont be a puzzy when it comes to stance, that could be a damn deadly combination. 18" Full polish wheel at that.

I actually think these would look halfway decent in 18's on a G coupe.
Hrmm...
There is room for someone to have another sub 25k rwd coupe thingy.
But the mustang is cheap as fckkk..... I wonder if they make it in yellow.... I could probably cop me another yellow v6 mustang
3 virtually identical cars in the same market with different brand badges and trim? Might as well change the names to a configuration that North America can recognize. I recommend:
The Scion Regal
The Toyota Grand Prix
The Subaru Monte Carlo
And maybe their upscale brand can get into the game and release the Lexus Cutlass Supreme?
There definitely is. The question is, which company is going to do it? I think Nissan is too busy promoting the Z/G platform to mind right now. My bets are on Honda surprising everyone. Sort of like they did with the S2k.
News to me. I was under the impression Toyota was limiting the car to Scion for North America, but it seems the GT-86 will be sold here as well.

#fixed

Me too. I rarely watch TV, unless I'm watching something like History or Discovery.

BTW, saw a modded CR-Z.....
Least to say I'm very interested......

The rest is Subaru. Right down to the famous clunky inefficient Boxer engine. These things are supposed to be ridiculously fun to drive but lack a lot of wanted power.
Also, I like the Veloster. Hyundai nailed that one. Blew everyone else out of the water with it. Bravo.

There, surprisingly, aren't a lot of CR-Z's around here. But they do catch my attention when I do see them around.
My understanding from reading is that it's Subaru's car almost completely. Toyota assisted/did the DI and VVT, and likely the Transmission.

As far as the Veloster goes, well, I think if they took some of the curves out of the front end, the car would look that much better.

They get props for originality and the guts to try a far-out design on the public. I sat in one at the last auto show, and it wasn't too bad. However, the performance specs are ridiculously lame, so I can't imagine why anyone (male) would buy one.
There's a teal CR-Z around here on coilovers with a set of some kind of (I think) Work wheels, a BBK, and turbocharged, believe it or not. It's a damn good-looking car.

Yeah the front end is a bit bulky (Think Juke-esque), but after lowering them they get more appealing.
130hp, sure lame... but in a 2500lb car? Not so lame, car also handles like a champ.
Great design.
On the subject of the Workmeisters. Here's Candlestickpark's (Marcus') flawless sedan with the SSR's:
Speaking of G coupes, I used to never like the G37 coupe, but in the past year or so, it has really started to grow on me. The only thing I STILL don't like is that nasty, little chrome spoiler they come with.

at cockeyed getting blocked.
