TCM problem?

My 2001 will shift smooth and seamless most of the time, and then randomly won't shift out of 1st. I can cut the key on and off and seems to reset and shifts just fine again. Is this the TCM? Anyone else have this problem?

Does it stay on for a longer time than you would expect @ start-up?

hold that thought...I'm going to go out and crank it, but no, I've never noticed it before so I don't think it stays on longer than any of the others...

It's the O/D light that comes on and blinks longer if there's a prob with the trans but thankfully, that's not the case! Comes on and goes out in 2 secs like it's supposed to. It's really weird because i swear the trans shifts perfect most of the time! Just every once in a while after a stop it won't shift out of first but if I turn the key off and right back on works just fine..that's why I figured it's got to be something in the TCM....circuit going bad maybe? overheating? the car has over 200k on it.
