S Tech Drop

Whats up guys been trying to do some research, right now I have a s tech drop and thinking about getting a set of 18x10 XXR 521. Does any one on here have a set of the XXR 521 with just a stech drop? Not sure how it would look nor if It would be low enough to pull off those wheels. I plan on bagging the car in the future so I guess it would be temporary.
Thanks fellas

S-Techs aren't that low and have horrid suspension travel in front even if you cut the bump stops.

with a set of full coil overs you can go nice and low and DEFINITELY make those wheels look the way they should look.

You will def want coilovers if you are going to get XXR's. What bags are going to get? I don't know of any bagged Maximas so id like to see the end result. If you want poke get either 235/35 or 225/40 series tires. Personally i would run 18x10 all around. simplenclean is running 18x.10.5. FYI (I do not own the right to any of these photos!)

These two setups are 18x8.5 front 18x10 rear

yes ive seen these 2 cars. ive actually messaged the guy who owns the first car. i do plain on doing the 18x10 all around in hyper silver, thought about the gold but wasnt too sure. As for drop yeah i have the stechs and im looking into the bags right now, and its gonna be a custom setup. universal bags. still doing my homework with that if i wanna go threw with it.
my boy told me to keep the stech drop and run the 18x10 with 235/45 profile but still not sure how its gonna look.

Nice. Post some pics of your car. Ya i wanna see how that turns out cuz it might be cool for the max. You wont get as much poke with 235/45. Both the sets of pics that I posted are running 235/40 in the back so you would have less poke. But its up to you on how you want to go about that.

how would it be less poke isnt it just a thicker tire?
i guess he was saying get a 45 to take up the little gap.

my bad i had it mixed up. It just means you wont be able to go as low as a 235/40 tire bc of the thickness of the tire.

Unfortunately it's ground controls , I had the s tech drop for about a week . Til I ran in to a good deal on these, The s tech drop will look good with the 235/45's . I'm currently 235/40's and the s tech drop when I had it didn't look bad at all. Personally I like a one finger gap between all wheels , so I won't be going any lower...

Didn't have my fingers handy but use your judgement.

Both sets of silver wheels are 245-40 18's.

Black wheels are 245-45 - 17's

okay wait a second now what drop are you on??!!
cannot be stechs thats pretty high there buddy
the point im trying to come across how a 235/45 profile tire will sit with an stech drop. im wondering if itll tuck a little or have any finger gap at all.

I ran that same set up u r trying to run, juts 8.5 on the front and 10 in the rear,it didnt take long until i figured I needed to go lower,so save the $ and get coils.

You will get a more decent ride and the car will look better gapless.

Just about half inch gap up front and little more then half in the rear. Thats why I say go with the 235/45's it probably close up the gap little better and lil less of a stretch. Honesty I been think of saving up and going with air bag in the near future.

H-Techs are gold.

And I have the part number, which resides on the springs, if you truly want clarification.

This

In the end when you buy the xxr's, stretched tires and coils your going to be happy because you'll be able to adjust ride height when you need to and get rid of the wheel gap. Right now I'm riding on 350z touring rims stock height with 225/40 tires and every time i look at it the wheel gap kills me. So im saving for BC coils and hopefully getting them this summer. Good luck whatever you do and I wanna see pics of the finished product
