Evap canister/ control valve
#3
some advice would be..... if i can remember i read somewhere you can possibly caulk the obvious areas and see if the codes go away.
I would need a picture of it to figure it out definately before I jump into it, but I am thinking just caulk the obvious areas where a leak would occur first instead of replacing them and then if that doesnt work replace them.
I have had this code for... 2 years

The following threads have some useful information. I also had a faulty valve, and purchased the Dorman part from Amazon.com for less than $50. The fasteners that hold the valve to the canister are typically rusted and you will probably break them while removing the old valve, but you might get lucky (douse them with some penetrating oil a few times). If you do break them, you can install the new valve with some RTV silicone or Goop, but let it dry a bit. As Prophecy suggested, you may be able to seal the canister if it's leaking. Replacing it with a new one, even aftermarket, is fairly expensive. At least one member obtained one from a salvage yard for a pittance.
