VIAS plate orientation question ( searched )

just curious, how is the plate supposed to be oriented?

Is it normally closed or normally open at low RPM?


Heres some pics

one way it is normall open letting in mass amounts of air , the second way it is blocking off the runners

i found a link to the repair, but it doesnt have the orientation of the plate

in this photo the cup has a dowel, my guess is it cant be installed incorrectly when pointing this way...
