What have you done about your leaking trailing arm bushings?
My right trailing arm bushing's water broke about 6 months ago. It leaked all over my driveway (thanks!). The left side is still intact. Since then the only side effect I've noticed is noise from that side of the car, handling seems to be about the same.
I've seen the write up on changing them and it looks like a biatch. I think I know all the possible solutions but just wondering what others have decided to do. Did you:
**change the bushings yourself?
**have someone change them for you?
**replace the whole rear beam assembly with a new one?
**replace the whole rear beam assembly with a salvage yard special?
**get an extra rear beam suspension, change them and then install the whole thing?
**say fvck it and live with flaccid, leaking bushings (sounds like old age)
**other?????

i had the same problem - right side leaked out
I could hear a little knocking sound during going over speed bumps or path holes
Also I was feeling slight tail drift when I was taking a ramp of the highway at around 35mph
I did a replacement with ES bushings
fit back into a car was tight and i had to enlarge the spacing between the brackets, not enough though - I still hear squeaky noise from them, as the rubber contacts with metal brackets, tail drift disappeared to some point of course, but making the same 35, even going 45 it's completely gone
I would say it took me around 4 hours in total with help of a friend
at our shop we also replaced the entire rear beam on I35 from dealer and it came up to 74x.xx dollars from dealer
When I was researching on replacement of these bushings, I saw one member mentioning that he got the entire rear trans-axle piece including hubs from junk yard for under 160.
If you are not doing it yourself, but paying someone - that might be a way to go, it will be cheaper
if you want to leave it like it is - it's your decision to make
