It sucks...

but I have to do it.

Every weekend no matter the temp! (unless it's snowing)
Just put on some gloves and a hat and get to work.

What's really bad is when the water freezes before you get to dry it off

If it's below freezing, I go to a local car wash (they wash cars
by hand, no machines). Above freezing, I do it myself

I washed my car at 7:00 am the other day. I think I even had to put on a flannel shirt (Silicon Valley).

I was going to say: Don't you guys up north have people wash your car for you, ie, hand carwashes?

I live in MN I was my car at a hand wash place that is indoors and it's heated so I just dry until I know it's dry I will be in there for hours.

I wish we had something like that up here in northeastern Mass.
Sounds like a nice place. It would probably always be crowded around here though...

Car wash's all around here in NJ, but i resist fearing the black paint will get scratched. Every 2 weeks i get out there and do the job right. If it rains i use that to my advantage and whipe the water off the car, can help if the car is really dirty, but I have to be careful, dirt can still be on the car after the rain.

I washed my car in like 34 degree weather this weekend. It was so dirty I coudn't stand it anymore. My hands were all red after and I could barely move them Gotta try the glove method some time. People driving by were looking at me funny. Even though it snowed the next day, I odn't care, I had to do it. I love washing my baby

The warm water and gloves are key when it's cold. I also wash mine in the street rather than the driveway because I don't want to turn it into an ice skating rink.

I never let anyone wash my car. Heck, I do it even if it's below freezing, but it is not good for your paint, so I refrain from washing in winter unless absolutely necessary (after the snow storm).

Few weeks ago I had to wash off the bird **** in 40 degree temp, my car got covered in ice before I could run up to get a bucket of clean water. The bird sh** is nasty...

Below Freezing

If it's below freezing, I take my car to the drive in car wash with the high pressure water "cannons". I hate to do it because it strips the wax off, but my car gets so dirty from all the salt. Plus I like to power wash the wheel wells and undercarriage to remove the salt and dirt that you can't hand wash.
