if OP claims misfires, and judging by profile has a 2k max, what little money I have is betting on ignition coils But OTOH, stalling and sputtering could be MAF...

codes WOULD be nice...

I had this same code P0300 just about a month ago. I tried everything to fix it, compression test, leak down test, ignition coils, injectors....everything. As soon as I ripped off the exhaust, I found out that my rear precat was all messed up. The precat completely failed and debris blow back into two of my rear cyclinders, thus blowing my engine. After a new engine and install with gutted cats $1800.00, all cyclinders are firing now and the car is running like a beast. So if you get a chance, check out your precats, if thats not the problem, still have them gutted asap.

When you say 'stalling' do you literally mean that engine dies completely or it's just idles rough? Any pattern on when this happens? Is it cold/warmed up/driving/sitting at stop sign? How often does this happen? How exactly did you check for leaks? What do you exactly mean by
No leaks, air or otherwise anywhere else
I'm sorry but your very short and vague description can only get vague speculations in response.

I doubt any 'tune up' commonly offered everywhere is able to fix anything. They break things quite often instead, like damaging MAF in the attempt to 'clean' it. Modern cars don't need tune up, it's a marketing gimmick.

I recently had this code, it was a vacuum leak in the intake manifold, but as stated above you need to elaborate on what "no air leaks" means and how you came to these conclusions. Also any work recently done to the car before the code appeared would be helpful. This can be a real sob of a code to figure out, so the more info you give the more you will get, and unless your a mechanic your gonna need the help

When cold it won't idle past 1000 rpm til it warms up and even then sometimes it still stalls or idles real rough.. No leaks as in a mechanic came and checked it out, checked manifold, tightened the clamps on the intake and it stopped shaking, but still sputtered a lil.. He suggested that I do a tune up.. I think Ima let a shop tell me what they think before I start spending all this $$$...

I've been dealing with this problem for ages now.

http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...kets-help.html

^That's a link to my thread. I spent approximately $2k trying to solve the P0300 and poor running issue. I have figured it out however, and the cause of mine is clogged precats. Save yourself the money and time, and test everything before replacing anything. I didn't and it cost me.

Read through that thread though, there should be a TON of information to help you in the right direction. Also check my sig for a link to getting the factory service manual for the Maxima. The P0300 code will be under EC.pdf.

dude i read through your entire thread, im amazed at how determined you are, i would have drove the car off a cliff and certain points. i know you determined it was your precats but did you ever get to gut them yet and 100% prove that theory ?

Got car checked.. Removed front coils and used Spark tester and a few other tests were done. After removing and replacing 3rd coil rough idling stopped. Was suggested that I replace da coils.. Still stalls when cold but no more rough idling.

Did that take care of the P0300 code?

I wouldn't replace all the coils unless you got money to spend. The stalling while cold sounds like an issue unrelated to coils such as dirty throttle body, MAF going out, idle air problem, etc.
