Service Engine Light! Save my max!!!
Service Engine Light! Save my max!!!
Hey what's up guys
My service engine light is on and these 3 codes are coming up. P0139, P0158, and P0138. I don't know what these codes are but I believe they are either the cam or crank shaft sensor. About 5 months ago I changed the Camshaft position sensor (b) and Crankshaft position sensor (B) after having my car shut off on me on the highway (Turned back on 10 minutes later
). I do not have a cat on the car nor a resonator. Is not having a cat on the car messing up these sensors? My car turns on every time and hasn't failed on me yet. What are some options beside putting a cat back on the car and replacing the sensors? Thanks in advance!!

what I would sugggest is call any of your local autozone store and tell them what those codes you got and they will look it up base on the manufacturer and it'll give you "probable causes" what trigger those engine check light. That way it gives you a run down where to check and see what it is.
Here what the codes mean:
P0138 is The Heated Oxygen Sensor (2) located rear of catalytic converter produces an output signal relative to oxygen storage capacity of catalytic converter. Ho2S 2 signal is less active than signal produced by front oxygen sensor. This code sets when HO2 Sensor voltage is greater than 999 mV for more than 2 minutes (time depends on model. Could be as high as 4 minutes)
P0139 This involves the rear oxygen sensor on the driver's side. This code indicates the engine air fuel ratio is not being adjusted by the oxygen sensor signal or the ECM as expected to do so, or not adjusted as often as expected to do so once the engine is warmed or under normal engine use.
P0158 is an O2 sensor located behind the catalyst that monitors the oxygen content of the exhaust after the cat. The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) then compares the post-cat reading to the pre-cat readings to determine if the catalyst is working properly.
I guess I'm going to have to put the cat back on

Do you guys think a a tune can also solve this problem?
