yep, woke up this morning, got in my car to go to school and when i turned the car on the battery indicator light was on, so was the brake light (only fully lit when e-brake is on, was kinda dim this time). i thought well maybe its because of the 30*F weather today, so i drove and got about 9 miles when the instrument cluster started dimming up and down by itself, mostly on the left side, the radio went in and out of power, and the check seatbelt light came on when i had my seatbelt on..ive had a rattling in the rear for a couple days that i was getting checked soon although i couldnt see anything hanging from the back at all and moved my exhaust around a bit and didnt see any budge from that..wtf is going on?

You need a new alternator.

 

Definately need an alternator,this happend to me a month ago in my 99 max and i ignored it because the light went out after a day...needless to say luckily for me ,on a friday morning i went out and car wouldnt start... jumped it,car ran for 40 seconds and died... bought an alternator and swapped it out,jumped car car stayed running and has been running since.....dont hesitate on it, you dont want to be left stranded somewhere..

 

Alternator time. Also, check your belt.

ya we're checking ground before alt, because it hasnt died yet.

 

Happened on my old i30, I turned the car on and took the positive terminal on the battery while running the car died. Next day went to my local parts store and bought a rebuild one for $120. That was that

 

Battery terminals or Alternator.

 

its the alternator, $350 to fix, thanks guys you always save me money.
