Very common problem its your gauge cluster, find a used one on ebay thats ur cheapest way out if your lucky it'll work. Or it could be just as bad as urs. A new one from nissan is $600. Some ppl buy several until they find a working one. I got one with 125k and it didnt work i found one for my friend with 55k and its works great. Im shopping for a low mileage one now

If it's not the dash gauge, then the fuel tank sender unit is bad. They aren't exactly cheap, either.

I would download the FSM and run the dash guage self diagnostic before I bought anything.

99% of the time, it's the cluster. I bought an OEM sending unit from the stealership and put it in with the same results as the old sending unit.

i had this problem start on me recently. checked all the connections, check resistor ohms in the tank, routed the problem to the cluster. bought a cluster with 80,000 miles, and now it works
