An easier way to insert PCV valve grommet

If you think changing PCV valve on 5th gen Maxima is a PITA, you might never try to change the grommet. The end of the grommet is bigger than the openning hole. The hole is behind throttle body and there is no straight line that you can use to punch the rubber grommet in directly. I tried an hour but still at a loose.

Finanlly I came up with an idea of using my impact socket kits. A 3/8' head adaptor fits the rubber grommet very well, then attach it to a universal joint socket, continue with 2 extension bars. So you can easily against the grommet onto the hole and then use a wood hammer to hit the end of last extension bar. It works, the grommet snugs in perfectly.

Pics below, hope it helps.

Oh man...yeah it can be tough, but another way is to coat the grommet with a bit of motor oil. It pushes right in there by hand.
