O/D button type

My O/D has been acting up so I was going through some troubleshooting stuff from the repair manual. I am confused about the O/D button type in a 2000 Max/I30. I know on other cars I have driven its a latching type switch, regular on/off. However, the one in mine seems like a momentary switch as opposed to latching. Is this correct? When pressed it simply comes back to the same position like a momentary as opposed to a latching. Thanks.

I believe it comes back to rest at the same position. I don't think mine latches at a lower level then when it is off.
