I'm having difficulty figuring out if the steering wheel off a 2001 QX4 is the exact same as the one on a Maxima. I found a gorgeous black/wood one and it still has the old style cruise buttons, but can I swap my left side and right side buttons onto it? Is the diameter the same as our wheels? Not sure if anyone would know this, but any help would be appreciated.

 

So after looking at a bunch of ebay pictures, it appears that a 2001 QX4 steering wheel and a 2001 Maxima steering wheel are not the same on the inside. The 2001 QX4 looks exactly like a 2000 Maxima, with 2 vertical bars on the left and right side. The 2002-up QX4's look the same, but I have my eye now on a black, heated 2004 I35 steering wheel. So a new question, can I buy the heated steering wheel switch and hook up a heated steering wheel in my AE? Seems like it would be relatively simple, but is the wiring already there? I have never done an actual airbagged swap before, so I'm a little nervous, but can I easily swap all the parts? Airbag, clock spring, etc? I would love to have the full-wood upper and lowers that the 01 QX4 has vs the half wood that the 02-up has, but just having a steering wheel with excellent leather will be so nice....
