For all of you that just had your winter tires mounted, you should seriously consider checking your lug nut torque and tire pressures. I had my winter tires mounted the other day and immediately upon arriving home, checked both the torque on the lug nuts and the tire pressures - both were way off!! A couple lug nuts were so tight - I had to really get on the Nissan wrench to loosen them. Others were barely 40-50 ft-lbs. After using a torque wrench to properly adjust them, I checked tire pressures - they varied by as much as 8psi side to side! I called the shop to let them know what a lousy job they did - the manager claimed they hand torque the lugs - RIGHT! The shop monkey just quickly hit them with the impact wrench and was done! It only takes 15 minutes and might save you from warped rotors or other more serious problems. I took a little longer than 15 minutes and cleaned and waxed the alloys while they were off the car for winter.
