Engine shutting off while driving

I have a 2003 nissan maxima with injen cold air intake and twice now the engine shutts off and then kicks back in with in 2 to 3 seconds. I have done nothing so far since it just happened tonight on both times, can anybody help please? The car has about 204K and lately I have been noticing a rough idle when stop

SES light on?

If so take it to Advance auto to have them pull the codes. Then post it here.

Check the alternator fuse on the battery terminal...

Check for codes even if the SES light isn't on, you may have a pending code. Wouldn't surprise me if it is cam sensor or IVT solenoid related.

I had a po420 before but I'll go see if there are any new codes and I should add about a month ago I couldn't start the car, no lights would come on at all and I went under te hood cleaned up the battery terminals and it started fine.

I was leaning towards cam sensor myself.

Aftermarket intake.
Engine cutting in and out.
Rough idling.

MAF in its death throes?

It can be your throttle body.... and/or idle control valve

Oh, sure, it is. I bet I can make up some more parts that this car doesn't have (that are unrelated to the symptom), so I can up my post count.

Your attempt is bad and you should feel bad.

^^^ That is what the issue was with my 03 Max.

Mine was the alternator.....changed it a few months ago. Check the electronics on the inside of the car and see if you get a drop in power
