Painting Rear Bumper (Crack)
Painting Rear Bumper (Crack)
So i Got a lil Gash in the rear bumper (Nothing Big). Body shops stated they will fix it and have to repaint the whole bumper. one said $250 another $350 another $450. Question is will i get at least a 97% color match. I know if you paint different parts of the car it wont match 100% exactly with the rest of the car. Any Suggestions on where i can go preferably in the NYC area or any reputable franchises?
I really don't have an answer for you but it hits a sore spot for me so I have to vent. When I went to pick up my Max from the stealership there were two bumper stickers on it. They thought they'd be nice and take them off for me. Unfortunately the idiot they sent out there must have used a hatchet because he gouged the hell out of my bumper.
That's all, I'm done venting. Carry on.

If you go to a reputable shop that has the proper equipment ( UV gun, sprayout cards, color chips ,etc.) they should be able to match it no problem.. If its center of the rear bumper they can blend it, if its right near the quarter panel it may be slightly different in color unless you get them to blend it into the quarter.
A thing to note- bumpers will usually look different with colors that are metalic, and its not because the color doesnt match its because the substrates ae different.. Plastic to metal. So there is different static electricity running through them which causes the metalic flakes in the paint to lay differently. Its hard to get a perfect match when doing bumpers..
