Kid wants to race me

So this cocky arab kid at my lunch table is talking **** about my max, so I said lets race. he drives a '09 2.0T Passat auto. im like 99.9% sure I would kill him, but I need some reassurance because I want to put money on it. Hes a rich kid and lets face it, I would love a second payday for a lip kit. So what do you think? Will by 222 beat his 200hp?

Well according to your signature you raced and beat the twin turbo 3.0 335i...so you should be running circles around the passat. Those clear corners & AE headlights must be putting in workk.

I think it's funny you want to race your Maxima at all...It's not all that much different than racing your Grandpa's Lincoln Town Car.... That being said, IF you beat the Passat, it won't be by much unless you spray or are boosted yourself. Speed is not always about just HP, bud.

Yup, if you can beat a 335i then the Passat would be no problem.

however the 335i might have been having fuel pump failure or running on 1 turbo or 3 cylinders

+1

And the cobalts s/c or turbo must have been locked up as well.

You have a completely unmodified 5.0 Gen, talking about racing a 2.0T Passat... WTF?

Arab kid, huh? Nice bit of stereotyping there, sport.

Didn't the org used to ban people for this ****?

I raced a 5spd passat 1.8t in my stock auto 4th gen and was exactly dead even.
After the y-pipe I got him pretty easily.

I gave up racing outside of the track a good while ago. I'd rather be able to see what my time is every time I go so that I can constantly improve. Take him to the strip and beat him there, win some lip kit money, and take some bragging paper with you. Other than that, I wouldn't bother. Not much to gain, and a lot to lose if you get caught doing it on a public road. Just my opinion though, carry on.

Sometimes it's fun to go head to head on the strip. I wouldn't put money on anything though. Just go have fun...and be safe about it. There are too many variables for anybody here to be able to tell you who will win what race. When I was a teenager I beat a friend of mine's Mustang with my Ford Tempo. My car was by no means faster, he just couldn't drive to save his life. It's all just good fun though. But take it to the track.

I sometimes wonder why any forum allows high schoolers to post at all

not sure how noting that hes "arab" is stereotyping though . stereotyping would be saying this arab guy wants to race me while drifting his FWD with back tires on serving trays through a crowded street with hundreds of onlookers

LOL!!!!!

It's not how you stand by your car, it's how you race your car.

And the F&F quotes start

Because if the kid in question looked like him, then he wouldn't have bothered to describe him racially, and by association applying whatever behavioral predispositions are associated with a particular ethnic group, right or wrong. It's pretty simple psychology.

People need to try harder, is all. When you choose your words with intent, it actually does make a difference.

Stupid azz thread. Lock it up and bring out the ban hammer.

its not stereotyping by mentioning his ethnicity. if you stereotyped his racing buddy because he was noted as arab, thats your deal but the original mention had no stereotype attached.

in other words, youre getting butthurt over nothing

the theory of political correctness is a theory that you can pick a piece of crap up by its clean end

Im in highschool. I think he's just on a different level of maturity, and doesn't fully understand the consequences of racing on the street. The only time I let my Maxima loose is on the On-Ramps

I hate to break it to you my friend but even an auto 335I would smash on a 5 speed stock 5th gen. Your car is not fast at all and the only place you should be racing to is back to school because i can tell your not by any means an honor student.

go find the definition of stereotyping and report back

edit: nevermind Ill do it for you. explain how there was any sterotype here

Okay....so you compare a twin turbocharged Bimmer to a stock VQ30??? Holy crap! If a VQ motor had 8.5 psi of boost that Bimmer wouldn't know where the hell you went when the flag dropped. Would be nothing but dust...

And I'm all for locking the thread too. It's a bunch of HS BS.

Ok, everyone. By no means at all am I racist or stereotyping. I am just setting the scene. It makes no difference at all whether or not he is Arab, but its just part of the story. Those of you who are mentioning my "mod list" please realize i'm just saying what is not stock about my car. I don't have enough money to break out a full exhaust or an intake. I know tons about my car, its very important to me. I changed the starter by myself, oil changes with synthetic, premium gas only. I take care of my car above all. I have been part of this forum since I bought the car and its my pride and joy. This race is just friendly competition, and c'mon guys i'm repping the Maxima community here! I have so much respect for you Rochester, and I've learned so much about what owning a Max is all about. It was sad to see you get the G37 and stop posting the forum alot. Its important to me that you aren't upset with my actions because you are one of the most respected here. Please forgive me everyone, it wasn't meant to be anything hardcore or racist, just some fun.
