Does anyone know this maxima?

So I got in an accident a few months back and had my max totaled. Today, i found this on ebay and my lawyer says that he can pursue the insurance company to possibly purchase this for me as a replacement. Does anyone know this max? It looks good to me despite the higher mileage, the only thing that looks off is the passenger headlight showing a bit of a gap... any thoughts?

did you notice the abs light is on also? something also looks a little funky on the right side of the moulding around the bottom of the trunk in the pictures where it is open

If the insurance company gives you a check it it going to be less than you can get another one with yourself?

I would think you for 4500-5000 you could get one in better shape with less miles. Check this link of one that was posted in Florida a few weeks ago.. was asking $4500 not sure what it sold for.

Also just so you know I had one with NAV and if you are ok with the maps being 6 years old at the newest it is ok but it is old technology and not easily replaced since the climate controls are built into it.

I personally wouldn't touch that thing even though those are some of the rarest maximas. Its got 187k and he wants like $4500. Thats too much IMO

It probably burns oil but you wouldnt know until after you buy it. I also don't like buying cars from ebay because I don't want any surprises after I get delivery. Unless you can actually see this car in person and work with the guy on the price I wouldn't jump on it.

ABS problems can get expensive quick and god knows why the headlights aren't aligned but thats not much of an issue. Good Luck OP

Edit: looked over the pictures again doesn't look like its in bad shape. Just the drivers seat could use a replacement though. If you can get oil change records, the transmission checks out, ABS problem isn't too bad and everything else works, try to talk him down to like 3800 and go for it. Try to actually look at the car in person.

well the situation is, I wouldnt technically be buying the car, the at fault insurer would.. So essentially its a free car. It is in my area so Im thinking about taking it for a test drive soon, if the lawyer can persuade the insurance co to settle by purchasing this car for me. I would have loved that white max, i looked at the ad like everyday but this was before I had the option presented to me now..

I would see the car in person before you do anything. If you can't see it, then don't waste your time.

if insurance is giving you 3.4k why would they buy you a car that costs 4.5k?

And check your local craigslist, you could find a better deal. I know in NYC there are a boatload of loaded 6speeds going for cheap surprisingly. might be worth your while to come up here and snag one on the cheap.

And I WOULD SNAG THIS MAXIMA BEFORE ITS TO LATE.

I brought a 03 Max for 4600 with around 185,000 miles.

This car is accurately priced, im not sure about the ABS light though.

Also mind you - You're getting it with what seems to be fairly new tires, tints and a custom navigational screen than you can program/hook up to do anything.

I would take the over, cause 3400 aint gonna get you something better.

TBH - I would trade in my max right now for this thing.

With insurance you can try and get them to replace the car you had if the cash amount they are willing to give is not sufficient for you to do that yourself.
