yellow dot coils?
I did some searching and couldn't find anything. are yellow dot coils the originals that came with my 2k2? or are they aftermarket? And at everythingnissan.com i see that they have coils listed for $4.56 a piece, yes 4 dollars and fifty six cents haha. whats up with that?

I went to everythingnissan.com and searched for ignition coils and got what you did. The drawing isn't exactly the Nissan parts drawing but the item looks like the coil. If you are a gambling man, check into their return policy and then order them.

If you look at the link, they break down the coil into components. One of the components, a spring # 22468, sells for $4.89. The guy doing the website may have grabbed this price by mistake.

Learn from my experience......don't buy non OEM coils......its not worth it. I ended up getting a couple months out of a set of six...then one by one they died and had to be replaced with real OEM coils which have gray dots. In the process of repeatedly having to drive home on 5 cylinders in limp mode...i toasted my manifold cat and downstream sensor. Just had to replace both of those and now finally the whole ordeal is over.

A set of 6 sounds like you bought an e-bay special. Nothing good ever seems to come from e-bay specials. I am currently running on 3 coils from autozone, all bought one at a time when an original failed on my car. They range in age from one to three years old and still work fine, so I can't complain

on everythingnissan.com it says there are no returns on electrical items. But i think im gunna order 6 of them. and i doubt the coils are gunna show up at my door step without them telling me they made a mistake on the price. but i'll try, and i will get back to you guys if it goes through. Whats the worst that can happen right?

In my first post I was asking 2 separate questions. The first one was asking if I have the original coils in my car which are yellow dots. I am sure the ones on that website are grey dots because it is going through a Nissan dealer

I understand why i kept seeing the wrong price. You said everythingnissan.com but dennismik put a link to nissanpartszone.com so i kept clikcing the link and seeing the $82 price.
I now went to everythingnissan.com and saw the $4.56 price your totally right they f'ed up. I check the part number of the coilpacks and nissanpartsasap.com has the part number 22448-8J11C and notes Superceded from 22448-8J115 and everythingnissan.com has part number 22468-8J115 for the coilpack theyre selling which seems like an older version of the one nissanpartsasap is selling or it might be something completely different? Not sure but it sounds like its worth taking a chance. Ive thrown away more money on stupider things

Everything Nissan seems to have made a typo for ignition coils which everyone should jump on. I wish they made the same mistake for the 4th gen.
A few things wrong with that other picture on NissanPartsZone.com
1. The VQ35DE 1st appeared in the Maxima in 2002, yet the diagram says 2001.
2. The picture is of a VQ30DE 4th gen 95-99 motor.
3. the 2001 motor was VQ30DE-K with a different intake manifold.
Also, the way I see it, the diagram is saying it costs $4.89 for the spring only. The coil costs ~$90.00.

I don't think you should have ordered them until i got them sent out to me. Now they might be wondering why there are a bunch of people ordering them, and look into it, then notice the price is wrong. do you know what i mean?

As for the drawing inaccuracy, I can't say anything about that. I'm amazed that you can tell. But I myself won't worry since this drawing is not for the intake manifold. But on another note, check out Courtesy Nissan's drawing for ignition coils, both the 2000/01 and the 2002/03:
http://www.courtesyparts.com/maxima-...1988_1989.html
All 3 drawings look the same to me (courtesy Nissan and nissanpartszone).

They just emailed me this... "This order has been placed on hold, Please contact us regarding this item. The item you are ordering is NOT the ignition coil but the SPRING to the coil. Again, Please contact us so we can verify what you need and go from there. Thank you".
Now I need to get my money back.

Hello All-
As you may have guessed, we did in fact have a data transposition error on our website (that has since been corrected). The part number listed as a "2002/2003 Maxima Ignition Coil" was just the spring that is contain within the ignition module at the top of the coil. To any of you who placed an order for these mislabeled parts please note that we have not captured any funds from your credit card account(s), we have only authorized the charges. These authorizations have been voided and will "fall off" your accounts tonight at Midnight.
Our sincere apologies for this error. We actually do all of our cataloging in-house and every now and then (within the 1.5 million Nissan parts listed) we come across an error such as this.
In hopes to rectify the situation please feel free to use coupon code "fedex4free" to receive free ground shipping on any purchase within http://www.EverythingNissan.com. For any of you who purchased these incorrectly listed coils and still need the actual ignition coils please email us directly at support@everythingnissan.com for special pricing.
Thank you for your understanding.

Just as I figured.
But legally they have to sell you the product for the price they advertised it at. Depending on how resistant they want to be, it could take years and could require court action. This is how businesses get away with screwing the public.
