A friendly message I thought I would pass on to all of u and anyone in question . I recently had a p0505 code on my 01 maxima , my car always made a weird noise like a fuel pump turning on and off as I hit the gas , ignored it . Anyways I got the code as soo. As I filled up and the car would not idle at all. So I thought here we go thousands of dollars or a new car payment I googled it and looked around on here and to my surprise it had electronic motor mounts ? I have worked on cars since 1995 and never heard of this . So once I figured out what was going on went on eBay and saved $95 to get the sta chip replaces in the computer and replaced the iac valve also and disconnected the engine mount . Then tried the idle relearn procedure and it didn't work looked on org and found out myself that the voltage has to be 12.8v , then the computer kicks in , I had previously turned the idle up ( never do that unless u follow the procedures).i also hooked up a voltmeter and checked my alternator by hooking it up to my battery and it read 13.8v while running . I had to since I waited for my dads car a day to borrow for a week for the parts to come in fr California via ground. Anyways if you have to re adjust your idle , adjust it back up to about 700-800 rpms or when the iac valve kicks in then it will be correct , then shut it off and restart once it starts again the iac should kick in the go back down to normal make sur wince the lights are on and the Ac is on it kicks in the iac and should idle at about 1000 Rpms Return to normal . If its too high turn it down slightly , really slightly and restart , and recheck .fyi
