Anybody know this car? (White 02 6 speed Stillen kit, Lowered)

I posted in the regional section without much help.

Looking at possibly buying an auction car.
I have never seen the car locally and the auction shows it's being sold by Geico out of Dallas.
Anybody recognize the car and have any info on it?

it says $7250..i wouldnt touch that car with a 10 foot pole, keys missing..nearly everything missing, man just buy a car that works for the amount of money youd spend fixing this.

the $7250 is the insurance pay out on it, that car does look repairable, my 02 max pearl white 6 speed is an auction car also, ive got right at $2800 in mine repaired. with a car like that you could bid $1000 on it and get it, or $2000 on it and not get it, you never know, to me, if i was bidding, thats a $1100 bid (you'll have another $300-400 in buyers fee's, but if its strickly parts and not a keeper car i wouldnt go over $850, that being said if you get it and its a parts car, i could use the rear bumper, the ground effect is nice on the rear but i dont need it, i just need a pearl white rear bumper.

From my experience of going to iaa auctions I say this car is going to sell for at least 2k..The only way I would buy it would to be for the basic parts, since the most interesting thing on it has been smashed.

You obviously have no idea what parts sell for do you? the tranny provided it isnt broken is worth $500, if its a HLSD its $800, the engine is $500-800 also, then you have the doors, rear bumper assembly, interior parts, and anything else that you can sell, junkyards normally pay 50% of what they will make on the car. I paid $2500 for my 02 maxima after the auction fee's, then i paid $500 for a 01 maxima that was parts, i made $900 off the parts maxima so it brought my cost down to $2100, then i purchased some tires, shocks/struts, and alot of car stereo stuff for it. while some people turn their noses at wrecked/salvaged cars, its all i own and i can save a bundle with them. If there is no chassis damage, if it only needs a front bumper, fender and possibly some control arm parts/front suspension parts, its repairable, but the parts value on that car are probably worth a few grand by themselves.

after looking at the pictures closer, the chassis is fudged up, i wouldnt repair it, but its still worth quite a bit on parts. definitely worth it if you want the parts, just remember there are fee's above the winning bid, $850 bid will probably be more like $1100 after fee's.

matthew

think about how much working 5.5 gen headlights sell for?

U cant even see the chassis, you couldnt repair that APRON you would have to drill out the spot welds and replace it.. which then means you have to repove tye fuse box and all other peices in that area, or you could pull it, cut the damaged section out and weld a new front section on but tyen your a hack... regardless this car is not worth it. Parts.. maybe.. if you get it for a 1000 bucks. If your attempting to fix this.. have fun. You will beed a wedge clam system , cut off tourch , welder aming alot of other things to fix that. Font expect to buy it and throw on a fender and bumper and call it a day.
read the edited part of my above post, i stated its a parts car, the passenger front upper frame rail is too far damaged to be repairable (it can be, but not cost effective) and i agree, $7250 was what they listed as repair cost, $7600 is the ACV which is what they normally pay out, ive been buying auction cars for several years, but mine normally come from co-part.com my 02 maxima was listed as a $6300 repair cost, i repaired it for MUCH less. I dont buy anything that requires anything more than minor frame work.

How do you repair cars if you dont know the difference between an apron, frame and chassis? There is no upper frame. Its an apron.

i never stated i was a professional, but either way you knew exactly what i was talking about, i know its a unibody car, but its still part of the chassis, whether you call it a frame rail, apron, or whatever, you know what im talking about.

although unless the original poster does get the car, either of our rants are pointless.

True, I wasnt trying to be a **** either lol .
Sorry if I came across rude.
But it its a big difference buying a car with slight damage down the whole side estimated at 6600 as opposed to buying a car with 7000 dollars worth of damage to a fender and bumper. There is major damage there that a regular joe blow (or maxima joe in this case lol) couldnt fix without the proper tools.
